Me too it can start a fire like it did a while back I’m pretty sure a princess cruise caught on fire because someone threw a cigarette overboard but the wind blew it back over an started a horrible fire

That is completely self-centered and then trying to pull their room steward into this? Totally unacceptable given that crew member could be fired. And thinking that the room steward couldn't be back tracked from your "bragging" about your fire hazard....

Arrogant and self centred idiots for even thinking that Carnival do not read these posts/videos.There is also a better than even chance , that they have caused the sacking of the room steward - regardless of whether or not, the $50 claim is correct.They would be the same ones who put towels on the pool chairs at 6am- just in case they might want to use it. "Main character syndrome" meets social media. It causing problems all over the world. And its replaced the fantasy about becoming a rockstar, now they think they are guaranteed to be one of the few making a lot of money from traveling and social media.

I have cruised on Carnival for over 40 cruises. I have never had to tip upfront. They have always treated us with the upmost respect. They have amazing crew.. BTW I do tip heavily

On my back to back cruise on the Mardi Gras, my neighbors frequently smoked on their balcony, so much so that we were not able to enjoy ours. I am asthmatic, and my spouse was recovering from a major medical event. I asked my neighbors to stop, nicely. I asked twice. Finally I called guest services, and advised security. Needless to say the smoking stopped.

Msc only holds 26 passengers. Wow 😂

I don't beleive they could buy off a room steward could be bought off! I Tip real good just because they are good people and work hard then probably tip later also.

I agree about the $50 tip hack. Too many ways for both the guest and steward to get caught.

I smoke but always smoke in designated areas and never anywhere else. Earlier this year on the Carnival Glory I went to my cabin during the day and laid down in bed because I had the crud that was going around the ship. Security came banging on my door and I guess I was totally out because I didn't hear them so then they had someone call my room. I had to get out of bed and security came in my room because someone smelled cigarettes. Security was extremely rude and they checked my room before leaving. They found nothing! It was the worst cruise I have every been on and we usually do 2 to 3 a year. It was so bad that I told my husband not to book anymore cruises anytime soon. There were more than a couple of rude crew members on that cruise and other passengers had complained about it too. I felt more stressed after that cruise than before I got on the ship. I follow rules and will not pay good money to put up with that crap.

I know but we tip at the end anyway when there's no longer any better treatment to be gained. Staff is so happy when you tip well. Try a modest tip early in the trip & you'll see what the hype is about even with staff already known to go the extra mile.

@@DrixxMadisonI do tip in the beginning as soon as I find my favorite bar. I also tip my cabin steward on day 1 and last day. I just think tipping is out of control when it’s expected after every drink. Great service should be given to each guest regardless of a tip or not with every drink.

@@Goldstar2110 Fully agree, especially if your tipping at the bar as well. I have a reasonable tip budget that I'm comfortable with. I don't drink a lot so I found myself tipping my favorite Gelato girl 😆 & turned it into a private game on the last day looking for my Main Dining support staff to bless.

Carnival finally cracking down. 2 years ago saw a guy drag his girlfriend by the hair on Carnival Vista. I for sure thought he was done. Nothing happened to him.

On the Panarama, there was an extra comforter under my bed. I had a king size so I'm not sure if they were under all the beds. So on your next cruise look under the bed before you ask for one. Hope this helps🙏🤞

Besides "People of Walmart", we need a "People of Carnival". When I start to hear a story of an idiot passenger, 99% seem to come from Carnival.

Good morning J. When it came to the fire on board the MSc ship I can see why they got everybody in their lifejackets and got among deck they're only being cautious from the Achille Lauro incident in 94 and yes they did own that information

I don’t smoke. But there is an area if a cruise ship that is the designated smoking area for a reason. 🤦🏻‍♀

I just disembarked a Carnival Cruise yesterday…I was more than beyond disappointed with the amount of smoking that was taking place on the balconies all around me. It was awful. People were flicking lit cigarette butts from their balconies. People were smoking weed. I normally LOVE Carnival Cruises, this was my first bad experience.

One of the biggest reason for not drying your clothes on the balcony is, that if it does fall overboard, it could look like a person has fallen overboard, and the ship would have to turn and look for the person. Also, if another ship happens to find the clothes, they are going to look until they find a person or they can confirm with the coast guard that no one has fallen overboard.

Crew member is NOT going to break that rule for $50. It's not worth being unable to get another contract on the cruise line. And they have to jump through too many hoops to get the job. And it's a fire hazard so if caught, the crewmember would probably be put off the ship also. If I walk into my cabin on embark day and it smells like someone has been smoking, I'm calling guest services. 1. I'm not paying $500 for something someone else did. 2. I'm not staying in a cabin that smells like an ashtray. If you look at the big picture, there are not that many rules. And almost all of them are for passenger safety. I've done 23+ cruises with Carnival alone. How hard can it be to follow the rule? You're on vacation. Enjoy yourself. Be nice to people and follow the rules.

What in the msc is going on

Eventually there will be a smoking lounge on the fantail, *that will be INCLUSIVE, for smokers of all types.* Then there will be no need to sneak it, and risk the safety and comfort of others. Thinking folks will stop partying while on a cruise is ridiculous.

When there is a smoke free cruise to Alaska, I’ll consider cruising.

Glad dabs are a thing now. I have had zero issues with ripping dabs outta my puffco peak in my room. I don't smoke cigars though and can go to the lounge for cigarettes.

Saile MSc in Italy…we had smokers on both sides of our balconies…I couldn’t escape the toxic air..I hated it. Notifies guest services, they did bugger all..I will never sail on such an unprofessionally run ship again..

Are you kidding?!? Our last 3 cruises I’ve tipped our room steward and had no problem smoking on our balcony the entire time. There were loads of people smoking on their balconies 😆
