How do you get a cavity under the gum in the first place?? My dentist said via xray he can see a cavity under gum line and said I may need a crown lengthening.

Hi doctor I had a root treatment 2 weeks ago, dentist said I need CL and a crown but I think filling is adequate, what is your suggestion? Which one is better? (Upper tooth 6)

Crown lengthening is necessary for perfect fitting of cap. Cap plays more role, it gives strength to RCT treated tooth. Cap is necessary.

Dr I had root canal treatment since 3 years. And a cap is fitted. But the length of cap is too small that i can't bite that side properly. Since it made some bad changes in my face shape. What to to

If there is pulp involvement then have to remove the tooth

@@suchijha hi Sachi. I got the root canal done from a prestige private clinic in London. I didn’t get a crown on it because the fracture happened below the gun line to the half of the tooth. The dentist gave me an option for crown lengthening but that involves removing the bone around the tooth that risks the health of the surrounding teeth too. But root canal alone saved the tooth well and I’m all ok for now. It been over a year since. I just try to be careful when chew from that side to not get any accidental bad bite damage on it

I had this procedure done yesterday. Tooth #4 due to the way my tooth fractured it was needed. The procedure itself wasn't painful due to the numbing injections, but after numbing went away, I am experiencing some pain and am only eating soft and cool foods for the next few days. My gum seems to be very tender, swollen, and sore.

@samg5183 fully healed now and finally have my crown in. I'm truly happy I decided to save the tooth rather than extraction. 😅💸💸💸
