Years ago I thought the Earl of Wessex was going to end up being the most controversial member of the royal family. Turns out he is one of the least controversial members of the family. I think a big part of that is the fact that he married well. The countess has done well in her role and I think she has been very good for him. They are very fortunate to have found each other. I think the Earl would have made a superb university professor.

Eileen I agree with you and wish Edward could have continued making these great programmes. Being from Aotearoa New Zealand there is so much I do not know of Britain even though my forebears too came from there. So many names that look back to England or Scotland. The street our house is in Dorset St for example. Edward has worked with a very fine team in making these programmes and like you I am going to make the most of what we can see on You Tube now even if the supply has dried up years ago

When I learned that Her Majesty was to travel to Sandringham to be able to enjoy outdoors without papperazzi ( or the low flying planes from Heathrow) I turned to this video and refreshed my memory of Sandringham. Superb! The map, The horses(Persimmon), the Interior of the House including the hockey's weigh-in chair, the three beautiful pianos, one made in oak, quintessentially English and Enduring. Well done Ardent and your person able narrator Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex. And, eventually we hope, the Duke of Edinburgh?

Despite he is a prince of the realm but his humility of not putting his title here is 👍. Nice to hear the story from him. Thank you your highness.

I think horses are wonderful animals, they always appear in literature as a symbol of the oppressed, the meek and mild, they are so closely related to human history, yet nowadays so remote from “modern” life.

Horses are lovely and like to show off. I love them but I am allergic to them. My mom and I were at a horse farm with my father doing a tour (bc he really wanted to). My dad was with the tour group right next the fence the entire time while my mom and I were in the middle of the path (trying not to sneeze). Lol

Hi, Most sensible of the males, I think. But can’t knock Princess Anne, she does more a year to represent the Queen and also her yearly work with charities outshines Princes Charles and Andrew put together...must commend Prince Edward on these series of the Royal residences..a true master in documenting the history of them, a great narrator..stay safe Yvette 🙏🙏☘️☘️

Anyone else notice that the standard flying over the house at 20:48 is that of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother? (Copyright on the film is 1997, five years before her passing.)

Beautiful grounds, so restful. Hard to believe looking at Sandringham that it’s real. Looks like something out of a romance novel.
