Your videos are very informative, and your explaining technique is very easy to understand. I am new to growing plants. Just a few weeks back, I cut 7 stems of the golden dust croton, taken from my society's garden, and I put them in 2 large pots. All the 7 cuttings have grown so nicely. I am so happy that they grew. But, I've also propagated Schefflera cuttings 2 weeks back and they have not shown any sign of growth. They have taken a firm grip in the pots, but no new growth is seen, Could you help me with this? I used honey and cinnamon powder mixture for rooting.

Schefflera cuttings may take 4 weeks to root properly.

You can use any fertilizer that has more nitrogen and/or more potassium and less or no phosphorus.

It's quite informative video. I love croton verity and tried every year to add in my collection but failed miserably. Every summer I purchased new plants but they last only till winter comes. Lahore weather is quite extreme in both seasons. Now, after watching this video I shall try to grow them in basement where temperature remains moderate. It's sunken area open to air but sunlight is not enough, what's your opinion about its succes?

Certainly, you should do it. As I already stated that croton is cold sensitive, if you keep it indoor at warm place during winter, it will maintain its charm.

If the crotons leaves are wilting or become dry & dead , but the stem is green should we remove the leaves by hand ( pull them out). Or leave them to fall on their own. Is the plant alive will we get new leaves.if I pull the dry leaves. Please inform sir.

If the leaves are drying, there is a chance of fungal infection in root system. Try repotting the plant in a fresh potting mix.

Use well drained soil. Keep at a location with bright indirect sunlight, or with 2,3 hrs of morning sunlight only. Water only when the upper layer of soil gets dried.

Hi, I have a question. I have a Croton with four branches, but in three of them, there is no new growth, and at the tip where new branches are supposed to come out, it doesn't look good, and it doesn't seem like it will give out new branches. In one of them, there is some kind of blackish-brownish stuff at the tip. What is the reason for this... fungal infection, need for repot, or some other thing? What should I do to start new growth? I have been planning to repot it, but getting delayed. For repotting, is it best to let the soil dry out before I take out the plant, or should I do it in a wet soil? It is rainy season here and so the soil isn't drying out. I have been meaning to take cutting from the plant for making new plant. I think that taking cutting and pruning the plant should start new growth from the pruned area, but my doubt is whether the cutting I take will have new growth since it's not producing new growth at the tip currently. If I take cutting and cut off the damaged part of the tip, will the cutting still grow? Or is it necessary to leave the tip intact?

You should spray either neem oil or neem-garlic extract on a regular basis to get rid of these scales. The relevant videos are available at my channel. As a chemical fungicides you can spray SAAF which contains Mancozeb and Carbendazim.

Check for root rot. Your plant might need repotting.

Croton may drop their leaves after repotting or after changing its location. New leaves will appear on its own after sometime.

Maine abhi kuch din pehle yehi slim leaves wala baby croton lagaya... Ispar bahut patli si dhage jaisi cheez ugi... Aur sari leaves pe lipatne lagi... Pehle mujhe laga... Shayad ismen hi hoti hogi... Lekin jab usne lagbhag sab leaves ko lapetna shuru kiya... To maine usko hath se nikal diya... Kuch tulsi ke beej jaisi growth bhi dikhi... Kya ho raha hai ye sab... Pls batayen...

It requires good amount of light whether you keep it indoor or outdoor. Outdoor is however best place for it.

Probably the plant got shocked due to one of the many reasons, like continuously wet soil, overwatering, underwatering, change in location, etc. Find out the reason first.

This is rainy season, so I guess, it could be due to overwatering. Try repotting in a fresh and well drained potting soil.

Many houseplant are poisonous, but it doesn't mean that you touch it and you get poisoned. Sap of most of such plants may cause skin irritation and if injested or chewed, may cause swelling, abdomen disorder, etc. Some are less toxic while some may cause serious health issue too.
