Crossroads with traffic lights on.

Crossroads with traffic lights on can be a bit tricky, so I have done this short video to help you understand who gives way to who. Also where to look and the importance of having a filter arrow. The video was filmed at Broughton Gate and the centre Milton Keynes. Hope it helps to improve your driving.

    I failed my test today and ONE of my MAJORS lol was the fact I had to be told to go because the green lights had come on to go ahead, but I was looking at the set of lights to my right that were red...Not all traffic lights,but i find it hard to instantly know if the green in front is for your lane..The lights I was looking at were for the right turning and they were all parked waiting,such a silly thing to fail on..grrrr

    The best app to use is the official DVSA. Costs about £5 practice it while on the move. If you have taken it and failed then work on the areas identified on the result sheet. Hope that helps

    Hi James. Say you're turning right at a crossroads with lights, you move off on the green light but there's oncoming traffic so you have to take up position in the centre and wait. While you're waiting, your light turns red. My question is, do you ignore the red light and just go when there's a gap or do you wait in the centre until the light turns green again? My instructor tells me to wait for the green light, but I've seen many sources say that you may continue on the red if there's a gap, because you crossed the give-way line on a green light. Please clear this up?

    TRASHoftheTITANS good question. If you are waiting to turn right in the centre of the crossroads and the lights change to red. There is a delay of the light change so you can go. Two things to consider here. 1 if you do stop in the middle, you will be in the way of the other right turning traffic. 2 when you are waiting to turn right in the middle of crossroads and the lights change to red, as you start to move off, be careful and watch out for cars jumping the traffic lights who are coming from your left. Hope that makes sense.

    Learn-to-drive Travis my car stalled and it took a little long for me to turn right. guy coming from left braked hard and honked at me as I started engine and rushed right since I was in way of on coming traffic as it nearly caused an accident. what if you get stuck in middle in these circumstances?

    Any advice for a mature learner just starting learning to drive....???

  • @JamesTravis

    @JamesTravis

    5 жыл бұрын

    As a mature learner you will have the experience of life and be more aware of the dangers on the road, which is a good thing. Use that experience when making your choices of what to do later on with your driving. But to start with, be open to suggestions from your instructor and never be afraid to ask why or I don't understand to your instructor. You will find that the more you understand the quicker you will make progress. Example. after each lesson sit down and self evaluate your lesson, watch videos on the lesson subject to back up what you have just completed. Then before your next lesson, sit down and think about what you want to achieve on your next lesson and set the goals with your instructor when sat in the car at the start. Good luck and feel free to check out some of my playlists on roundabouts and learning to drive. Enjoy and safe driving

    If am in national speed limit for my test do I have to do 60 or aslong over 50

  • @JamesTravis

    @JamesTravis

    7 жыл бұрын

    Me Asian hi, if it is national speed limit on a single carriageway on a clear day. I would expect you to drive above 50 mph when it is safe to do so. The 60 mph limit is a maximum speed and as long as you can drive at a reasonable speed for the road then you will be ok. Good luck
