The Gungeon detail is not doom, it is the beholder from d&d stuff

@@nunyabisness1979 actually (and yes you can do the nerd emoji on me) it's based of the initial appearance of the astral dreadnought. Specifically the cover of the book " Advanced Dungeons and Dragons: Manual of the Planes" by Jeff Grubb.
Funny how Serious Sam II makes a reference to Duke Nukem Forever _before_ it even came out. A jab at the ridiculous development cycle it had, shown by Duke's skeleton.
There are a lot of references in Enter the Gungeon, not sure if you've covered it, but the evil looking fortress you see in the main menu, is a direct reference to the fortress in Ninja Gaiden II (NES) which can be first seen during a cutscene before stage 6-2.
An entire list could be made solely with the Dopefish from Commander Keen.
The music of Driv3r was great
7:39 The weirdest part about the Shadow Warrior one is how it's clearly the character copy-pasted in. I'd have to imagine they either got some kind of permission or it just flew completely under the radar, because 3D Realms never owned the rights to Tomb Raider.
7:56 in the shareware version, Lara's depiction is different. She is drawn in more pixel art with a visual style similar to the other females in the game. She also has her clothes ripped in that version, making it more revealing. Iirc, the dead bodies of the ninja turtles could be found in that same level.
Great soundtracks, great easter eggs (especially for HROT)! Next time: Music easter eggs in videogames?
