I used the old valve spring in the new valve which made the plunger react like the old one. I also noticed that he valve tube had a smaller inside diameter so I used the old one also. The gun now has good power. Thanks for the advice and again thanks for the great video! Sorry to be so slow in responding but gun started to index poorly so I replaced the cylinder plate and index finger. It now works perfectly.

Im thinking abaut options several of them before parting with my cash, im not a repair tech- so im using an industrial type silcone lube with teflon like moto master 300- its not leaking from the co 2 port so plumbers teflon is out of the question- repair and return will probably cost me 23.00- so if the silicon lube does not succeed then im really interested in watching this and become a do it yourselfer like I've done in the past with my cars on occasions-

Excellent video, thank you. This is going to really help. I just got an old Crosman 357 just like that one, I think it's about 8 or 9 years old. A friend of mine had it, and it doesn't hold gas, so he just gave it to me. I recently re-sealed my old 1976 Crosman 38T, but it is completely different internally (easier than this newer one). So this video really helps.

the oil will get shot out, but having a tighter valve spring in there could be part one of the lower power , and also if the valve was built along time ago then the stem seal could already be shot, run about 3 bottles threw it and see what happens.i never rebuild valves till its time to use them and i never replace the valve springs unless they need to be done, not sure where you got yours but it dont sound like your valve is operating properly, try what i mentioned and let me know.

Thanks for the great video. Thanks to your great step by step instructions my rebuild was easy. One thing I have noticed though, is that my gun seems to have a little less power than before. My seal kit contained the complete valve and CO2 inlet assembly and the plunger is stiffer than my original. Also there was a lot of oil in the valves. Would these affect the power? Again thanks for a great video.

Great video! I ordered all of the parts from Crossman and they are very affordable. You can still get most of the parts from them. After watching the video I was able to replace all of the seals as well as a new valve assembly and a new piercing body. At under $20.00 I have a new 357. Thanks!

This is an effective training video. I was able to reassemble my air 357 after springs popped off and it was a heap of parts. But, just a tip. If you have editing software, you could have flipped the image so that the viewer was seeing it straight on, not up side down. That would have made it easier to follow. Thanks for doing the video!

It's 2 in the morning when I'm at that stage where I revert to childhood play and I was tinkering with the co2 storage, imagination amok. Out of nowhere I wanted to see what was inside, and so I unscrewed it and opened it. Holy shit, that was a mistake. it's now almost 6 and I've just now put it all back together. Mine is slightly different with the index bar, and minor other things, but good lord that was one of the most arduous and tedious and painstaking moments of my life. When things flew out at me when I opened it up, and then when everything else fell out later, I was so sad; I thought I had basically ruined it

I have done lite work on air pistols - the barrel won’t stay locked - I guess it needs part 357- 021 latch support? The main thing is you can’t get it to puncture the c02. It doesn’t go deep enough to puncher the c02. I screwed it out everything looked good - screwed it back in till it bottom out and still did not puncher the c02.

I'm missing that little brass piece what u put in that hole of hammer, is it important and do I need it? Hi Kevin: I took it apart again and found I had managed to lose the little spring that causes the trigger to hook up on the hammer when the trigger is pulled. I couldn't find it so dug through my "Misc Stuff" and found one similar that I only had to shorted a bit. The gun works great now so that was the culprit. I don't know how I managed to do it even after you had warned us not to lose it. Thanks again for sharing your expertise. Best Regards, rocky1405

Question Kevin, I have the old 357 "brown grips" but it was missing the parts in the c02 puncture area. The gun was my brothers and I wanted it fixed. I bought a kit off ebay that came with the new valve assembly prebuilt, just drop it in and screw case back together. He sold it as a kit for phase 1 and 2 guns, but I noticed it is for the newer guns. However I installed it regardless. It does shoot, but its only giving me a small percentage of power, not even enough to push a pellet out of the clip. I messaged the seller and he said it could be the hammer or hammer spring. I doubt that, I suspect a blockage in the jet or valve perhaps? I really want this old gun working again.

My revolver leaks co2 almost immediately after I tighten the cartridge. I don't know why it happened because it gave no warning at all. Do you think a seal kit will do the job? The gun has been well cared for, never dropped or mistreated.

Kevin I was wondering if there was anyway to get better volume out of the cylinders but I guess after watching this that it's preset, also I dripped mine out of the cabinet it was in to a cement floor about 4' and the barrel part jambed back to the cylinder pin I moved it back but it was way to easy to move have any idea's how to stabilize it? Great video but camera was a but out of range for a good view. Thanks for posting it it does cime in handy if I was to try to repair one I have two and what weight of oil is that your using? 10w?

they have crapy valves these days known problem crosman still has not fixed so just order in a new valve and your goof to go till it messes up again, if you pull the trigger enough times it will work fine again for awhile till its screwes up again i reallt dont get what the problem is yet with the valves i havea customer with the same problem and they only real fix is to find and older verison 357 valve and then your good to go for 20 years as well as its got good seals in it hard to find those valves tho i have one and they do go for big bucks when you can find them

Hello Kevin. Great Video. Thank you. I think the latch support boot wedge fell out of mine. Have you ever seen that happen? Any recommendation of a replacement part for it? I could probably get creative about wedging something in there if necessary. Very helpful to see how it was designed in your video.

yup you can power mod it for a bit more fps how ever the best thing for power and keeping it legal is find your self the 8 inch barrel for that gun it will take the gun just so very shy of 500 fps , as for small game it wont take much more then some chipmunks and some small birds.

your looking at 54.00 for the basic rebuild kit this will not include a new face plate or indexing prawl which i advise strongy to do + 35.00 labor and shipping costs both ways iam in ontario there is no mark up on the parts i dont make anymoney on the parts at all. it takes about 2 weeks for me to get the parts ,, crosman canada wont have the parts for vintage guns, so i have to get those parts from the USA and before i can even order in the parts ihave to know which version of the gun you have of the vintage series there was changes made to the linkages for the trigger as well as the indexing prawl as well. so that now adds more time on getting it done and back to you..

I ordered the new wedge (the piece that helps support the latch at the barrel break) i have the brown grips which is the older model Crossman 357. Is there a video on how to do it? Terry Fry the side cover must come off to change the support boot, you have a 1 in 10 chance that you wont toast the quad seals when you pull the cover
