It's just that Dr Dre doesn't want to go another round, with all the promotion, touring, etc. etc. etc. that goes along with it, and then the inevitable beef and bullshit that goes with it. Besides, he's close enough to being a billionaire, so he really doesn't need to.

Death Row and Aftermath faced the same problems, The industry wouldn't let Suge generate buzz or market artist, Dre didn't know how to generate or market artist. You had to have a following, a major buzz, crazy ass gimmick or know how to push your own shit

kinginc2000 no, they faced majorly different issues. Artists on Death Row ended up dead, in major legal issues, broke, extorted, etc... many artists on Aftermath may have ended up shelved on their own projects, but I suspect they were used behind the scenes in working for Dre and his highly successful projects, as I DONT RECALL ANYONE NOT GETTING PAID (I could be wrong on this but I don't remember reading or hearing any former Aftermath artists saying Dre robbed them or didn't pay them whatever they were supposed to get). And don't just skip over the FIVE HUGE SOLO acts to come out under Aftermath in Eminem, Eve, 50 Cent, The Game, and Kendrick Lamar... Sorry for the novel, but yeah, those two labels are night and day...

Most under-rated rapper in the game PERIOD. Everyone sleeps on Crooked.. so glad he's my favorite lyricist would be so choked to miss out on all those bars.

Dre would have kept him on the shelf forever and none of his material would see the light of day.

crazy part of this is, i've been a fan of this guys since maybe his verses on streetz is a mutha ... i remember him going to Death Row/Tha Row and hoping they would drop untouchable and say hi to the bad guy it took years for Suge to drop Against The Grain which wasnt even started til after Crooks albums got pushed back smh its been a minute .. lol

If Crook had gone to Aftermath, Eminem would've had serious competition. Wonder what would have happened.

I can still remember looking at a magazine back in 99’ with an article with Crooked flashing a brand new Row chain and had just signed... it was so hyped up like a massive free agent signing, Crooked was the biggest up and comer back then

Aftermath wasn't always the shit, plus they had a lot of rappers on that label that couldn't even release an album and just had to help ghost write for Dr.Dre.

It's funny to hear him talk about it so many yrs later , and i actually remember this whole time frame when it came out he signed with them

I was so hyped for Crooked I and Darren Vegas tracks on Tha Row from 2001-03. So disappointed that nothing really eventuated.

Yeah he might have been featured on those projects but his own records would've been put out. Dre keeps his artists in the dark other than Eminem.

I feel crooked as far as being on the burner but tbh he would of been better off in the long run b/c it ain't like Aftermath hasn't put artists out b/c game & a handful of other artists made it thru. In my opinion, I think if this went down, one of them would have to fall a little bit unfortunately. I think Crooked I could still blow up now since he hasn't been put out completely into the mainstream society. But if he had dropped along with Em and Aftermath, he possibly would have blew up then, but not as big as he's capable of now, leaving room for Eminem's success. Of course, that's if you still believe he CAN blow up or even WANTS to.
