Crooked houses - Dudley.

L/S's pans across coal and tin mines in countryside. M/S's of town centre and streets. Various shots of crooked houses due to subsidence, doorways and doorsteps are sloping, and walls have cracked and come unstuck, chimneys lean together. Various shots of the drunken looking houses. They are going to be knocked down and replaced with new ones.

    Want to see the Crooked House rebuilt? It CAN be done ! Check out the Carlton Tavern in Maida Vale, London which HAS BEEN totally and exactly rebuilt after it was demolished without permission in 2015

    I drank In the Crooked house only a couple of times, weird but great boozer!! Shame about the fire!! I hope they rebuild it!

    Dudley is most definitely in the Black Country and a much blacker country than in the 1940s.
