Crochet Summer Top & Bottom - In-depth Tutorial for Beginners - FREE Pattern in S, M, L
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This Bikini set is sooo easy and quick to make: I can finish one set in just around 2 hours. Again, it's an in-depth tutorial with size guide. So even if you've never crocheted before, it's still gonna be easy as a piece of candy. Grab your yarn and hook, I've got your back💗
When you google "What is the Best Yarn for Crochet Swimwear?", most recommendation for this would be synthetic/acrylic yarn. And that "Natural yarn like wool and cotton can hold water and become heavy when wet".
I agree, the yarn that I used in this video is acrylic, and I love it. However, I've tried cotton & wool before. Personally I don't think they're bad material underwater at all (especially when your bikini holds on well to your body like the one that we're gonna make, in which we tie-string everything). It kept it shape pretty well underwater. And when I got out of the water, there was no problem.
For this I would say, if you prefer your bikini to snap close to body, then ANY material would work just fine✨. Only if you want the bikini to be a bit loose upon wearing, then synthetic & acrylic yarn should be your option 😉
Please note that everything else, including crochet hook size and yarn (weight & amount), was covered in the beginning of the video. Yet they are only recommendations (though highly recommended). You can actually use any kind of tools & materials you want to create your own version of the set, or even different fabric effects. Just keep in mind that your project may turn out larger or smaller than the pattern, depending on what you choose ;)
This pattern was written with love & care. You are free to use, share the pattern, and sell your final hand-crafted product. In case all cases, it would be nice to mentioned ABoC Studio. Thank you 💗

With the way my breasts are shaped, I added more rows for coverage. I would normally be a large (27 st) but to cover the sides of my boobs just right I did two more rows for 33 sts 😊 Just a side note. Also I used a 3.5 mm hook with a category 4 yarn so that may have a lot to do with the adjustments as well.

Thanks for having different sizes but did I miss something with the straps you didn’t explain how to end them and did you slip stitch back down the chains ?

You can take a look at my newest pics on IG, that how i tie my bikini bottom all the time 💞💞
This looks easier than the others but I’m thinking I’m turning my work wrong or something because I keep making a circle (at least it doesn’t look like a triangle, about round 3) and I can’t figure out what I’m doing incorrectly
Can I use 5mm hook
if i were to continue adding rows for the bikini top, would this increase its size? i’ve made 13 rows but it’s still not big enough to cover me

can you answer me which size of yarn, you used to make it? and if I use cotton yarn 1mm, is it ok for me to make as same as your video?
@ABoCStudio
11 ай бұрын
Hi, if the yarn size/weight isn't written on the label, you can use WPI method. To find out how to use WPI, follow this link: www.craftyarncouncil.com/standards/how-measure-wraps-inch-wpi Nevertheless, I can guess that Dk yarn (recommended in the video) is about 2mm💞
If I use a different weight of yarn and different size of hook and follow the video would it still come out the same?
@matlagningskursfilippaemil4300
Жыл бұрын
nope, the larger the hook the bigger gaps. if you want to have the bikini as covered as possible I would recommend a smaller hook!
@ABoCStudio
Жыл бұрын
The comment above is right! But still you can follow the exact same techniques in the video, you just have to come up with your own number of rows and stitches 😉
could this be done with 4 weight yarn?
@ABoCStudio
2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use that 💗 In fact, any yarn would work. Just keep in mind that your piece would turn out smaller or larger than the pattern bc of different materials. In this case, 4 weight yarn is thicker, so i think you can either go down a size or use smaller hook may be 3.0mm 🤔
@charklette6143
Жыл бұрын
I was concerned about the size of the holes in the fabric with the original yarn and hook combo, so I used a weight 4 yarn with a 3.25mm hook =) worked great. It took way longer to complete, but now I won't be worrying that people might see through the bikini

Sr but I got stuck with the bottom!! Row 1 (size L) is 22 then in row 2 we skip 1st and 3rd and another in nearly the last, it means we skip 3 st, so it must be 19 why 20 😢 I counted and tried 5 times it was also 19 😭
@ABoCStudio
9 ай бұрын
Hii, we only skip the first stitch because it's already have the chain 2 on it (which is counted as 1st) so we don't work another st in there (that would be increasing 1 st). And you are right with the rest, so we skip 2sts, one is the 3rd and 1 near the end ✨🧶
