🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
*Do you have a left handed version of this video?* If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZread yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
*How much yarn will I need?* This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
*How many squares do I need for a blanket?* That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
*Do you have the written pattern?* Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. *All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website*
*How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's?* Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
*Can you remake this video so it is slower?* If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fn2Gu9mkm6zFZLw.html
*Why do you use American stitch terminology?* I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet-stitch-conversions

This is the first crochet tutorial video I've found where the process is not cut away from at all- it's all there. Thank you!! I often need a few repeats of what exactly is happening before I'm comfortable using the technique, you were so patient and explained and counted each time!! I hope to try this out one day

I have been a tad obsessive lol, so glad that I can do different patterns lol, cause of my dyslexia I get absolutely lost with written patterns so lovely person like yourself doing a visual pattern or literally reading out written patterns has been the gate to my escape route from the daughting one pattern lol... high five sister! So stitches, v feather stitch for sisters scarf, waffle stitch for my sons scarf... hexagon blanket for my youngest niece and I forget the name of the other pattern but it's all triples and second row of the 2 row repeat is back post 4 triples together lol.. thank you so much for making my knowledge broader 🤩🥳🤩🥳🤩🥳

Yay! 😃 Sometimes it is like that with making things, glad you got there in the end.x
I love how you talk your way through this so easily & just make it look like it's going to really be just that easy. I also love the color pattern of the shawl in the beginning of this video. The gray works too as a more neutral colored shawl but the one with the black is just so beautiful & bold & vibrant. I love it. If I can EVER get some money ahead I'm going to try to get enough yarn to make this shawl in nice vibrant colors similar to that. It won't be the same colors but it will be the same color block pattern you used on your shawl. It's so cool. When I was just a child my grandmother showed me how to make granny squares, now I can apply the same somewhat method to this shawl. I'll be thinking a little about my grandma & my mom while making this. My grandma crocheted. My mom was a beautiful realist artist. She also sewed, knitted, arranged flower, home decorated & many more. My mom was amazing yet she thought she was nothing. I really do miss her. She was my best friend. Anyway, now I'm old & I have my dog & some crafts so I do hope I can afford to try to make this pretty shawl. Thank you so much for showing how to make it. God bless you. 💕✝️💕

I was looking for a project to use some yarn that I have a skein or two each of and hadn’t known what I was going to with it. One is a solid burgundy, the other is a burgundy ombre, then 2 different shades of gray (light and dark). I began this pattern hoping it would work out and so far I really love how easy it is and how unique it is turning out with the colors I’m using. Thank you so much for this pattern tutorial! 😊

I love this shawl and have begun working on one with some random yarns I've had lying around forever (impulse buys), so it's turning out very eclectic. But I was wondering if there was a way to make it longer than it is wide? As the point of it keeps going, it keeps getting wider and wider, but I was thinking the log cabin point pattern would make a great scarf with colours I actually select. Is there a way you could recommend how to decrease on the sides to make it a specific width as you keep going longer and longer? Thanks, love your videos!

I got you! 😀 kzread.info/dash/bejne/eqOg1bSHk9OnfaQ.htmlsi=sA_Lplbi3ht79oMe 🧶
This pattern would be tremendously beautiful for a jumper. Such a pity I'm not able to turn it into a jumper...

@@HookedbyRobin oh darling, you broke my heart 😅 (just joking... you broke it a tiny bit, actually). I swear, it'd be simply too adorable 💕

@@HookedbyRobin sorry, I misread your comment, thought you said that one day maybe YOU will be able to make jumpers, that's why I said I'll be patiently waiting 😁
Hello Robin; The shawl is very beautiful. I would like to know how many balls of wool per color have you used.

Thank you so much Monique! 🥰 For my shawl I used: • Ice Yarn Picasso Rainbow 🌈 www.iceyarns.com/git/681/picasso-rainbow • Ice Yarn Softly Baby in White www.iceyarns.com/git/681/fnt2-42370 • Ice Yarn Softly Baby in Black www.iceyarns.com/git/681/fnt2-42368 My shawl is currently a large shawlette size as I have run out of the white yarn - my shawl is currently to X size which took 3 balls of Picasso, 3 of Black and 3 of White. Once my yarn arrives I will continue until this shawl is a full size! I will update the yarn amounts here in due course 😀🧶
It would be awesome to make two different triangles and then piece them together into a square for an afghan so you don't have to follow the log cabin afghan rules 😉😊
