You can use milk cotton, or you can use medium thickness wool yarn. I haven't measured the exact diameter. sorry for the late reply. Happy crocheting!😘😘😘

@@mkadiric8161 hi, I used a 4ply half cotton half acrylic yarn. But you can use a thicker one as well.

You can choose the yarn you like, thicker yarn will make the hedgehog bigger, conversely, use thinner yarn to make it smaller.😄
