Wow! After years of 'never having time' to crochet or knit, I have forgotten so much. I stumbled on your page yesterday and I am hooked! My friend is expecting a baby and I will be making a waffle blanket as your instructions are so good and clear and my practice piece looks good. Thank you! I am now so excited to be making many more projects too.

Hi all, hopefully this helps with some of the confusion, it does state chain in threes and add two, as the teacher crochets, she chains 113 total (111 is the multiple of 3 and her +2 makes it 113) for the baby blanket size. Hopefully this helps someone! I do not know how many rows she does, I believe that is up to personal preference :)

Mine keeps coming out uneven. I just simply chained 113 total & then at the end of that I turn & skip 2 chains and do a double crochet into the 3rd chain & in every chain after that until the row is done. I don't know what all this multiple of 3 + 2 means. I had to take mine apart multiple times. When I start the row where I do the around the post double crochet - when I get to the end - I don't end with an around the post double crochet, and then a single double crochet as it says in the video. I think I end with 2 double crochet. I am worried that my count is off somehow even though I have tried checking and counting it a few times. Does anyone know what the 2nd row is supposed to end? I'm trying to figure out if my count is off. Thank you.

Pat Savinda I made my blanket to be 30 inches wide and 34 inches long and that includes the border. I made it white with 2 shades of grey stripes. I uses approximately 500 yards of white and around 200 yards of each grey color. I used Lion Brand Pound of Love Yarn in White, Oxford Grey and Elephant Grey; these are all #4 weight and I have enough yarn left over to make another blanket. The texture and stitch definition are amazing with this “waffle stitch”. I am going to make a full size afghan for myself in other colors and use this waffle stitch for all of it.

Taylor T thank you. I’d like to do a pink one and a blue one, as we will be great grandparents in January but don’t know if it’s boy or girl. Lol. X

Hello from western Canada. I love your work & I follow you on the tutorials. I've made many of your gorgeous projects. Presently I'm making 2 of these baby blankets in variegated colors one is shades of emeralds from light to medium & the other is light to medium pinks & blues. Both are looking lovely so far. I am making these for tiny babies in hospitals in the intensive care units. Thanks you so much & by the way you are an excellent instructor..............
