Crochet Coral Tutorial - Crochet Applique Tutorial

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In my crochet tutorial today I'll be showing you how to make this crochet coral applique.
If you would like to view the crochet pattern for free, it's on my website at kerriscrochet.com/crochet-cor... or you can download it from Ravelry at www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr... for $1 at and LoveCrafts at www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/ca...
You can also subscribe to Kerri's Crochet Newsletter and get a free copy of the Crochet Cat Towel eBook at www.kerriscrochet.com/crochet...
For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona crochet cotton colour (410) Rich Coral. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 22cm wide x 23cm high (8.5” wide x 9” high) for the larger coral, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the coral in Catona will be 20cm wide x 17cm high or 8” wide x 6.5” high). The medium coral will be 17cm wide x 16cm high (6.5” wide x 6.25” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small coral will be 12cm wide x 13cm high (4.75” wide x 5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.

    Thank you Kerri for this excellent tutorial! The pace was perfection and your voice is so soothing. I made three of these for an epic sea-life themed afghan I am making for my sister. Your underwater friends are the perfect fit for my project. Thank you!

    i love this so much Kerri as i love coral. Thinking of making a coral brooch or coral necklace. Might have to stitch some felt at the back to make it more stable. But it's just stunning. so happy to search youtube and find this. Didn't think I was going to find a coral crochet tutorial

    I was able to make the with no problem. Did you single crochet all the way around or just the stem and then slip stitch

  • @KerrisCrochet

    @KerrisCrochet

    I worked single crochet on the stem and 1 ch and slip stitch in each stitch around the rest to give it the jagged edge.

    How did you press yours? Mine melted. Should I have just done the backside

    That’s such a shame. I usually make mine using cotton so would cover them with some cotton fabric and press them. I never press directly on the appliqués. You could also pull them into shape and put something heavy on them.
