Hi Liz, thank you. I used 4 ply crochet cotton which is similar to DMC pearl No. 5 and a 1.5mm hook for the cat but the appliqués could be made using any weight yarn. I make my recent ones in 3 different weight yarn and give the sizes. I do have some easier appliqués in the beginner playlist where I use thicker yarn so it's easier to see and go a bit slower. You can slow the videos down if you need to.

Hello Margaret, I have a pattern on my website with close up photos of the placement of the mouth and whiskers which would probably be helpful. I embroidered the whiskers on with black cotton.
