Ok noted with thanks..

I have used these a few times, this time the ones I got, the holes are too small to get my hook through 😩 does anyone know of another way to start at least the first row so that I can switch to my hook? (I've tried every hook size I have and the one that would was too small to grab my darn yarn) I'll be forever grateful if anyone has any suggestions!!

Maybe try using needle instead. It won't be easy or maybe just use needle sew lines and crochet on those lines for the next row. I will try it out and see. If it works will make a short video for you. Give me some time, hihihi.

This particular video I used t-shirt yarn, u can use cotton yarn, nylon yarn even fluffy yarn too

It is crochet t-shirt yarn on bag base. You can buy the bag base on most online store.

How many mm of crochet hook did you use?

Depend on the size of the hole in the base, normally around 3mm hook, so long the hook can poke in. The top part, change back to the hook that is suitable for that type of yarn.

Search for Bag Base for crochet and the yarn is t-shirt yarn. You can get from online stalls / shop. The bag base comes with holes, the seller will tell you how many holes etc.
