🔥 Frequently Asked Questions:
Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on KZread yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

I love this pattern, but I’m having a problem with the single crochet at the beginning and then when I join it looks like I have five spaces instead of two magic ring makes a difference I have difficulty in doing it. Also, can I just continue to add octagon instead of doing ones. How do you join the white part. If you can help me, I will buy you a cuppa coffee.

I have a silly question…because I tend to change my mind on the colour layout a million times before the project ends and I can never commit to a JAYG is it possible to join these all after. I’m thinking yes and it’s a daunting task but just want to make sure it’s possible before I go and make a million hexagon’s. Thx Robin!!❤❤ beautiful blanket…it’s also like the 4th one I have going right now from you. lol 😂. You are the root of my addiction hahahah. 😊❤

Do you mean for the white hexagons inbetween the flowers? I used the exact same method as I show in the video for joining - I simply made the flowers first and then joined in between them with white hexagons 😃
@mandyadsett126
12 күн бұрын
Thanks for getting back Robin, would love you to make a short video on using the white hexagons to join in between the flowers 🌺
I've decided to do a blanket. I've done 10 yellowish centers. Then I'm using up a skein of pink for the petals. And to assembly line it, as soon as I'm done with one petal, I've started another petal by doing the first round and the first 3 stitches of the second round, no chain stitches. Then I set it aside to do another petal. Then I rinse and repeat. So far 2 motifs are done with another started. I've no idea how I'm going to put it together, but after these 10 are done, the next 10 will be blue.
Love this!! Can you show how to do a half hexi?

Love this motif! I keep looking at the video but cannot figure out how you were able to do continuous joins with the white that surrounds each flower in your scrap blanket in the video. Will you explain?
@HookedbyRobin
19 күн бұрын
I made the flowers first and then made the white hexagons and attached them using the same join as you go technique that I teach in the video to join to both the flowers either side :) If you make a couple of flowers then lay them out, you'll be able to visualise it a bit better x
Quick question instead of the magic circle could you chain five the I'm begin.

This pattern is so cute. I almost feel like I could make this one. How do you join the white shapes? Do you make the flower first.
@HookedbyRobin
19 күн бұрын
I made the flowers first and then infilled using white between them and joined using the same join as you go method :)
Let’s say you were to make the 6 hexagons around a 7th center hexagon, which looks very much like the flower you have made here…. How many of these 7 hexagon “flowers” can make up a full blanket with a solid color in between them like you have here (the white) and how many of the white would we need? I assume they are all joined the same so you’d make the white and join as you go with it as well. Do you have a pattern for this as a blanket? Or is it meant not to be planned out in that respect.
@HookedbyRobin
20 күн бұрын
I've not really got a plan for it as such, I started by making the 7 hexagon flowers, laid them out and then made a ton of the white ones to infill inbetween them (using the same JAYG) - it's very much an ongoing work in progress that I'll be adding to over the next few months (years? Lol) so this video is simply for the motif rather than "make this blanket like I have" type deal if that makes ANY sense at all! Xx

Love this motif! So cute! I do have a question because I’ve never made something like this. Do you eventually join the sides as well or do they just remain open? Thank you for sharing this method!
This is joining the pile of flowers I, as predicted, didn't finished 😅. Btw, if I were to make it a rectangle (or square, same thing) how should I fill the space left between the hexagons? I'm thinking I could leave some hexs missing as a pattern so when I make a border the spaces look as part of the pattern but I'd like to fill it in better, though I can't think how, I'm still very new to crochet

Hello Robin I love your tutorials they are so clear and precise. But I have a query. You sound British and yet you use USA terms. When I learned to crochet 50 years ago all patterns were written, in what I now know as, UK terms. It’s only since watching You Tube that I have heard of USA terms. I prefer the UK terms, they make more sense.
@HookedbyRobin
19 күн бұрын
I learnt using USA terminology (I'm the only person in my family who crochets so I didn't have the benefit of learning from anyone in person) I learnt using the Internet - like you I didn't realise there was different terminologies between the UK & US until long after the USA terms had been cemented into my brain 😅
What is the quilt name for that Afghan ? Is it the lazy daisy or the flower patch or garden? I can't remember. My grandmother made so many quilts and it was sooo long ago.
