---- About the Pattern ----
The 10-minute baby bird is a completely no-sew amigurumi pattern! The beak and feet are crocheted onto its round, chubby body. Use different colors to crochet this tiny stuffed bird into a mallard duck, chick/chicken/hen, dove, or more! You can even attach a keyring to the top of its head to turn it into a mini keychain. This pattern is designed with super bulky weight chenille velvet yarn, but you can use thinner yarns to make a smaller version. It’s the perfect last-minute gift to whip up for class Valentine’s Day gifts, Easter eggs or Easter baskets, or Christmas holiday gift or stocking stuffer. It’s also suitable as a market prep product for craft fairs since it’s so fast and easy to make.
The PDF pattern includes written pattern instructions along with a detailed photo tutorial to guide you through the doll-making process.

Exciting news! A CROCHET KIT for this pattern is available: yarnsea.com/en/project/2125/10-minute-baby-bird-free-crochet-amigurumi-tutorial
Here’s a tip for anyone using normal weight 4 yarn instead of chunky/chenille yarn: If u want to make the beak or feet a bit bigger, after attaching, instead of chaining 1, chain 2 and SC in the first chain. Then u can attach it or whatever.
Oh my gosh, it's adorable! I'm gonna try and make it for my friend's birthday... I hope she likes it! Edit: She did!!

Yay! What alovely gift!!
Thank you so much! I made the little chick and he’s so adorable. I didn’t have any eyes, so I used a knot of yarn (my first time trying that) and it turned out great :)
Ohhhhh they're so cute ! ❤❤❤😊
🥰 super cute and thank you for sharing!!
Thank You!! Thank You!! Just what I'm needing.
So cute!
Very cute!
I cant wait! 💜
Thank you soooo much ❤️
This is so adorable! You have the best videos-easy to follow, great video and audio quality and I appreciate that you don't have any music playing in the backgroud (it's distracting when you're trying to learn). I know these videos are time consuming to produce so I just wanted to say how much I appreciate what you do. Thank you!

Thank you for this amazing pattern! It really does take 10 minutes to complete on your second try, because then you know how to make the beak and limbs. I used a 3.5mm crochet hook, number 4 yarn, and it still was the same size that it was in the video! Great pattern, and it is great for all yarn sizes!

I love this baby chick pattern❤ I added little wings to my baby chick in row 6 and it made a really big difference than the one I originally made. Now it’s time for me to make a whole army of baby chicks. I’m also probably going to sell them at school as little key chains.

Awesome! Look out for my free "Bunny Puff" tutorial coming soon!
Thank you, this was the best video with best description I have every come across. I was actually able to crochet 3 duckies and I am the most beginner at this ever. I was wondering if I want to make a big duckie would I just increase the number from 8 to like 24? thank you.
@SweetSofties

Thanks for the lovely feedback!! I'm humbled and congrats on crocheting THREE duckies!! Great job! If you want to make it bigger, you can increase to 24 instead of just to 16 sts in teh pattern. To go up to 24 sts, you need to: (sc, inc) x 8. Then, you will need a couple more rounds of "sc around" to make it not only wider but longer, too. Hope this helps!

@@SweetSofties Aww thank you so much really appreciate your reply. I am now at 5 duckies and they are getting better and better each time. I truly meant it when I say your video and your way of teaching is the only one I was able to follow. lol. Thank you again for the information on making it bigger. I will try that next. Have a great day. 🥰❤️😊

Very very cute !!
Hi! Thank you for such an adorable pattern, and also for the detailed video tutorial. I'm new to amigurumi (and, basically, crochet in general.) Question: For the PDF mallard pattern, you specify to change colors, but if I change colors "in the round" I will end up with a very jagged, uneven color change. Do you recommend a specific method to avoid the color jag?
@SweetSofties
3 ай бұрын
Hello! You can do the invisible color change method if you'd like! Here's my video tutorial on it: kzread.info/dash/bejne/rGt8ldmfotvcpag.html
I have really been wanting to crochet but my patience is limited, I tried this and it wasn’t that long! Adorable! Also I don’t have the eyes you used, I have black and white yarn. How do I add eyes with these?
@SweetSofties
11 күн бұрын
Great job! You can embroider the eyes on instead if you have black/white yarn.
Thank you so much. I was wondering where you got your pink tool?

Can I make this with a magic ring ???? If I can do I have to make 8 sc ????

Yes, you can do a MR to start! :) The chain method is easier with plush yarn because it's hard to pull the magic ring closed without brekaing the yarn.
hi! could i sell the duck I've made with your pattern if i have added credits? i am planning to sell some cute small keychains similar to this and maybe more in the future. i really love how simple and cute this is, i added some wings and it turned out adorable! 💓💓 also, could i sell some other patterns made by you if i added credits?

Yes, you can sell finished dolls/items (not the pattern instructions) and credit me with my name and site, such as: "Pattern design by Sweet Softies, www.sweetsofties.com" So awesome to know you enjoyed my pattern!!
How can I add a little bow on him? Like a little embroidered on one?
@SweetSofties
Ай бұрын
If you'd like to embroider a bow, you can use yarn and a yarn needle, and embroider a bow shape to where you want!
Hello, I want to make this but I don't have a darning needle (Is that what you call it?) Is there any other way to close it up?
@creative-asmae3966
Ай бұрын
I was just like u, but i found a solution. So u need to have a separate yarn that u will close with, and then take ur hook and insert into one of the stitches and pull the yarn and repeat the process into other stitches, each one alone. Hope that helps ❤, and if u didn’t understand something about this process feel free to ask me :)
