I followed your instructions and my count came out the same as yours. After decrease for band, was still to large so did additional row with some decreases and then did 5 rows. Perfect.

THANK YOU! I made this in Lion brand angora, pearl gray (it took 2 skeins 100g each, and 24 rounds to get to the rib knit border and then 6 rounds of border and the reverse crochet. I added a tiny “stem” to the top. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I am so happy with the way it turned out and I wish I knew if you had a scarf or a shawl pattern to go with it. I have already been asked if I can make one in red and white, like a peppermint candy, for Christmas.
