I live in Kragujevac, Serbia. I’m also black American girl. There’s Cyrillic all over the place here, and I had to teach myself the alphabet, since my former tutor refused to teach it to me.

@@buzzhawk A relic of Pan-Slavism, what are you talking about? It's alphabet just like Latin alphabet, it is official alphabet in Serbia and very commonly used, I believe outside Internet and probably Belgrade, Novi Sad and Subotica Cyrillic is more used then Latin alphabet. I think it's cool and good that we learn both, it makes easier to learn and understand both Latin and Cyrillic using languages.

Chieko Jelic Really! That's so interesting! So restaurant menus are in Cyrillic? I'm going to pin this comment--I didn't realize that. Thank you for explaining this to me. I guess it's Belgrade where not as many things are in Cyrillic which makes sense. I went to Kragujevac a few years ago too--I guess wasn't paying attention to enough detail

I'm a Serb and I can't tell the difference physically between Serbs and Croats. So, more power to this dude. :) What he also could have said is the fact that while Croatia is without a doubt better in soccer, Serbia is better in basketball. Would've made for a nice balance. Also, I know a few Croatian girls and many Serbian girls and he seems a bit biased there lol Croatian girls are actually a bit more extroverted when meeting foreigners than Serbian girls from my personal experience. Maybe it's just his own experience, but it seemed a bit harsh to generalize like that.

i think his opinion on serbian girls is mainly based on girls from Belgrade. Indeed Belgrade since from its very beginning it has been on the frontier of different cultures and empires, there is a cosmopilitan atmosfere and could be that girls there are more open minded. Many Belgradeds are more into western lifestyle.. This is totally different if you go southwards in the heart of Serbia be it west central eastern or southern serbia. People are less open minded and more focused on their own community.

The language is similar only;the order of words in the sentences is often different,Croats use more of letter "j" (i.e. bijelo=belo meaning white color);in Serbia Cirilyc letters are used also besides latin, Cirilyc is used in Makedonija,Bulgaria,Russia,Belorusia, slight differences in letters. Face recognition is almost not possible in most cases to tell who is from where. Religion is different but still Christian in its base. Music is mixed between us,we listen Serbian music, they listen Croatian, so not much different. Anyway, for foreigners,we are the same;for us,we know the difference at first "Hello" 😂

Having been to Kosovo, states in Albania and Serbia, I did notice that most Balkan women have that Kardasian look of big breasts, lips and behinds you can sit on. Very hour glass figures. Men tend to be huge and yes they talk in that deep sexy voice. Even boys around ten begin to speak macho and deep voiced for their age. And yes, Balkan people are very family oriented. You see lots of women and baby carriages and the men can be strong handed if you know what I mean. Being in the theater world, I did meet people who are more worldly and accepting of outsiders. The food is great. The soil is rich for farming vegies and a lot of the Balkan states are really beautiful.

Individuals can get along... but as long as certain questions, especially from the last war that was only 25 years ago , wont be answered we wont live in total peace. Also even if there are similiarities...all I know is that we can be good neighbours but we wont be brothers ever. Tooooi much happened in the past. Btw since when is Severina considered pure turbofolk? I am one of those few who doesnt like turbofolk at all... everytime I hear it somewhere my ears starts to bleed... the same with German Schlager xD just not my genre.

A ti kako oćeš. Živija i ugodan ostatak nedilje.

To be honest there are a lot of people who don't support LGBT community here. The reason is that a lot of Serbian people are very religious. Also people don't like the fact that it is supported by western politics because we see western politics as fake tolerance, based on what we went through 99 and how they treat the world while talking about peace and love.. Again, it depends on a person. Me and all my friends are fine with it, what matters is are you a good person. And I rarely met someone who is openly hatefull. It's more a social media hate thing, I think. But that's how I see it as a Serbian person, I speak from my expirience. I hope you will visit my country and have great time here 🤗

I understand that KZread travelers like you and Gus are trying to make FUN videos, not TRUE videos, because your priority is viewership, not information. Your goal is not to educate but to entertain and attract as many followers as possible. There are serious and difficult topics that properly explain the difference between Serbs and Croats (and Bosnian Muslims), so I will try to explain briefly. All of us Southern Slavs in the Balkans (we all speak Serbian, only some of us call it differently because they do not like to admit that they speak Serbian) we are biologically the same people, mostly we were all Serbs until a few generations ago. But under the influence of stronger states (Surprise ! White Europeans are also victims of white European colonizers) over several generations, parts of the Serbs have converted religion or nation. Strong European states, Turkish Islam and the Catholic Church manipulated us to clash here, and after several generations hatred survived the memory that we were all Serbs.

Then the U S turned their backs on the region during ww11 after the serbians saved 500 U S airmen that had been shot down by the occupying German forces in the biggest rescue from behind enimy lines in modern history. Ok it's like this.. We Serbs killed Murat the sultan of the ottoman empire, We Serbs killed Frans Ferdinand the heir to the Austro-Hungary empire, We Serbs were on the side who won in WW1 and WW2. And the croatians were on hitlers side killing Serbs and Americans.. The croatians had a concetration camp only for children. So yeah the Serbs are greater by far😊

*Yes..Croatians and Serbs do speak the same language and it's called CROATIAN.* *Vuk Karadžić replaced (reformed) the Serbian language with Croatian 200 years ago. Prior to that the Serbian* *language historically was very similar to Bulgarian and* *Karadžić thought it to be very pastoral and backward. In fact any Serbian* *book written before 200 years ago is simply unintelligible to us today...the* *language was nothing like what the Serbs speak now. In fact the current* *"Serbian" language unlike Croatian, has NO historic continuity.* *You can literally read any Croatian book older than 500 years and you will still be able to understand 90* percent of what you have read. The Croatian *language is to Serbian what the English language (England) is to the* *USA, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND etc. Of* *course Serbs cannot bring themselves to admit these historical facts and rather* *prefer to resort to cultural appropriations (im trying to be nice here) and fanatic* *inversions of truth and reality.* *This truth about their language and culture is a very, very....VERY hard pill for the Serbs to* *swallow im afraid......whoa...hum!!!*

You are so insane! What does this woman have to do with anything you are having in your head about the US? Be ashamed of yourself. This woman is basically promoting Serbia and other countries in the region. This is the first video of her I watched and I can already see she is down to earth.
