Dalmacija is not a rural region. Marko is not from any rural area, but from a touristic town called "Umag" in the region called "Istra" and situated on the coast. He sings not about himself, but generally about leaving, metaforic.
Hello! Croatian who moved to Austria for better life just around the time he came out with the song, here. One of the reasons why I love this song so much! Feels so comforting. Never forget where you came from! 💖 But still a proud Croat no matter where I live. It’s never easy to leave your home.

Croacia must win! For freedom, for democracy, for Europe.
I am a 29yo Croatian and already two of my close friends, my sister and a lot of my colleges from college (doctors now) left Croatia in order to try to get a better life. And it is not just because of money. Our country is so corupted and very little things make you not dissappointed when you decide to stay and work here. It is so sad but we have to go away because also our wages (and I am speaking as a fairly well payed individual compared to other people in Croatia) and oportunities to grow im career are just not enough to have a decent life if you don't have some property inherited from your family or use nepotism to further yourself in career. It is so sad because you miss your friends and they miss their home but that was the only way for some of them to get a better life. So that's why we love this song and that's why it resonates so much with us. It's not a joke entry, it is a actually a fairly optimistic social commentary on the situation in our country.

With Croatia's win some countries will return for 2025 competition (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary) because they are close neighbours....with Israels win I have a strong feeling some countries will give up even more for upcoming competitions...it would be a political message to the rest of other countries

Have you done one of these for Switzerland? If you haven’t you should definitely do it. It is a very deep and meaningful song that 100% deserved to win.
But those are not rural areas (Dalmatia and Istria)...? They are touristic hotspots. Marko (and his team) had a serious difficulty finding cows for the music video.

You're provided with a lots of wrong data, not only here, but generally, when it comes to Balkan. "Ćao" (ciao) is a regular greeting in all former Yugoslavian countries.

well almost 100% correct, rim tim tagi dim is that riff that is mimiking the dance, so 99.9% correct. try to describe that riff with words.

Joost decided the Eurovision winner...Switzerland benefited from the Netherlands disqualification because it got some additional public points that were now enough for win...with Joost, those point would diluted Switzerlands points and Croatia would win...

WHAT IN THE WORLD DID I JUST READ😂😂 If someone benefited from the Joost disqualification it was CROATIA, both are huge televote bombs and party songs, and when Europapa isn't there Croatia is getting the votes. Europapa and The Code aren't similar AT ALL
Baby lasagna should have won, nemo won to make political statement non binary wins first eurovision. It's not about the music. Eurovision has lost credibility.

Definition of CRYING from you😂 Nemo won Eurovision because their vocals were literally stunning while spinning on a damn disc, the song was an unique mix of many genres like drum and bass, rap, pop, opera, and it just overall was a really greatly produced song with tons of quality. Deserved victory
