Climbed this 30 years ago without knowledge there was a church at the summit (Forgive me as an American who was studying abroad). It literally took my breath away. Still a place I visit in my meditations. So grateful for this video to bring it all back.

Done it last week , tough but rewarding. 1st section is the realization of the challenge, 2nd section is a relaxing build up to the 3rd and final section , which is the challenge. Take your time , believe you can and you WILL get there.

This video amazed me the first time I watched it, and it encouraged me to drive 3 hrs and climb it. Ive climbed 28 times now and enjoy it more every time I summit. Looking forward to the next visit. If you havent done it yet, you need to make plans and do it, you will not be disappointed.

I went up it a couple of years back, found it very hard but the most amazing thing. Then again, I do have Spina Bifida and it did take me ALL DAY haha! Would totally do it again though.

i hated climbing this mountain. getting to the top wasn't that hard, but coming down is terrible. i got 3 cramps. im happy i can say i climbed it though

Very difficult in wet and foggy weather. Worth the climb, but don't think it is going to be easy. It is more difficult than the video makes it look.

I climb croagh patrick every day just to get the adrenalin of rolly pollying back down and into a thorn bush. i eat squirrels.

Did it barefoot last year..no cuts or anything..happened to be 30degrees tho..was like a fuckin lobster after it..felt it the next day tho..feet like mince..goin back in 4days

There is Gold In Them There Hills, but the old in Saint Patricks mountain/ The Reek will stay there forevermore

I wish I had climbed it when I was young. my advice to those now climbing it, is to plant a tree or a bush there when you climb it, especially bushes and trees with fruit, nuts and berries for birds and wildlife,

Now it’s awful hard it’s pure dust past the shoulder and coming down is even harder

I cannot understand why the church is closed at 3.00 pm. On the one and only time I climbed the mountain I was hoping to light a candle for many friends and loved ones, but because it was after 3 when I arrived at the summit, I was unable to do so. I would love if someone could explain to me the reasoning behind this daft policy.

I climb it they give out sandwiches crisps at top and there is a donkey and a church and Saint Patrick was buried there he's coffin is still there

I have no tolerance for people who this barefoot. It is idiotic and totally irresponsible. It is very difficult to bring someone down on a stretcher if one gets injured. I would only suggest good boots with good ankle support. Anything less invites the risk of twisted ankles. Whatever about wearing runners, going up barefoot is idiotic. Ask the doctors in Castlebar hospital what they think about it when they get clogged up in AE on Reek Sunday with all kinds of injuries.

Wearing runners is absolutely fine if the weather is dry and there is a reasonable grip on the sole.
