You still don't have any of the training versions of the blade. CRKT makes the Hissatsu trainer and one of Williams sensei's student make a trainer version of the others. Will you be reviewing his DVDs also?

Any new Williams knives? I've seen his work with Winkler, and they look amazing, and really effective combat/self defense tools.

Excellent collection! Just picked up the CRKT HZ6. Great knives!!!

I own many of the same ones as you do. I’m getting the Sakimori later this week. I have and will be bluing the fixed blades. They come out beautifully. I met Mr. Williams at the Dojo of the four winds about around two weeks ago. Very nice and accommodating man. 👍🏼

I regret not getting the Sakimori when it was on the market. Just got the HZ6 recently and it's my new fav. About to buy the Raptor Wakizashi soon.

I've got a couple of Heihos, a coupld of Hissatsu folders, a couple of Otanashi Noh Kens, a Goken and an Inazuma No Ken as well as my very first Williams design CRKT, the Hissatsu fixed blade. Love his designs so much. It's just too bad I came in late. I only started collecting last year (2021). A lot of his CRKT knives have been discontinued.

No problem lol I must have watched the review you did on the crkt hisshou a million times..that was another great review and I've ordered one

The Hissatsu folder remains a favorite of mine even though I have a lot of more expensive knives. I find myself grabbing either of my two Hissatsu folders a lot when I just want to have a knife in hand.

My neighbor was trimming his hedges and working on his grill circle the whole time I was filming this LOL. He didn't say anything, hopefully his heart rate stayed in the normal range though.

It's interesting you chose to double up on the Hissatsu ...the size and style of the Otanashi make it an attractive option but the handle to blade ratio and handle thickness of the Hissatsu make it a very comfortable tool...it's a knife that should remain in CRKT's lineup and maybe they could put together a G10 handle model with an upgraded steel🤔....CRKT works with incredible knife makers/designers and there is a market for a higher price-point product from them...I de-assisted my Hissatsu because I'm not 13 years old ...and it's smooth as butter..my favorite knife in the Williams designed collection....I don't mind the auto-locks feature that much

Very nice collection, I have the Hissatsu folder. I want the Straight edge Heiho, that Shizuka and Otanashi Noh Ken folders... man why did I watch this hahaha

Great video, excellent knives, my favorite channel! I carry the Yukanto, and the Heiho every day, and trust my life to them. Looking forward to your specific review/ testing of the Yukanto. Thanks for all you do.

Start with the Heiho, it's very useful even for day to day cutting tasks, and once you've used it for a while you'll definitely be inspired to get the big brothers!

When I was a kid, every kid thought he was going to grow up to be a sports hero or rock star. They were wrong. Nowadays, kids think they will all be the CEO of the next internet start-up. They are also wrong. There are not 20 million slots open for "video game designer" LOL. Yes, there is no common sense anymore!

I certainly qualify as a knife addict, although I do refer to it as an "iron deficiency"... :)

That is one incredible line up of blades!! I need to get me some of those!

Weird. My otanashi definitely doesn't suffer from this issue... Perhaps put some loctite on those screws and tighten them to your liking.

It was definitely a bad decision. There is actually a clone now sold as the Resident Evil Tanto, around $50.

My sheath on the Hisshou is horrible. Is yours? Any suggestions to tighten it up?

I like the stout fixed blade in the middle.....

+WeAllJuggleKnives I'm interested in the sakimori as an edc blade. I work in humid/marine environments, and rust is a concern for my nicer blades. What does your regular care regiment look like for the sakimori? Do you find the steel Patinas easy? How often do you oil it? Thank you

The Hissatsu folder is on my list of "stuff I would actually rely on," due to the fact that the blade is set back a bit on the handle, it's very advantageous position for stabbing without tempting the knife to close on ya. Many other knives, Endura for example, are at a forward angle to the handle, which would stress the lock directly during a thrust.

WeAllJuggleKnives I have not thought about that before but thanks for letting me know because I believe the lock is the most important part of a folder in the sense of strength which drastically reduces my choice to Tri-Ad locks and fixed blades. Now what do you think of Tri-Ad locks for self defense? Do you think Tri-Ads are too hard to open and close? Between two identical folders, one with the Cold Steel Tri-Ad lock and other with the smoothest liner lock, which one would you choose for self defense? Gimme solid.

I have 2 of these knives but the plastic sheath has glass fiber in it and it dulls the edge when I withdraw the blade. This is not good for a self defense knife that has to ratain its edge when used. When CRKT stops using glass fiber in their Kydex sheaths I will again buy CRKT fixed blade knives. For military or self defense uses the sheath should NOT dull the edge you put out the knife. I have one of the folders and it is great, the edge is razor sharp, but the fixed blade knives dull immediately upon drawing the knife. Mora knives and Glock field knives have no glass in the sheath so the edge stays sharp when with drawing from the sheath. Please stop CRKT from putting glass fiber in their plastic sheaths!

i think yukanto is the most practical and tactical fixed blade knife designed by james william. what do you think WAJK?

Torn between the Hissatsu and Otanashi No Ken. I like the No Ken's size but that Hissatsu looks like the handle fills the hand better and might be more comfortable? If any of you own both could you offer up some advice on which one to get?

The fixed blades are nice looking but can you stab with them? They have no guards, so how secure of a grip do the handles offer? Thanks

You can, you just have to be careful and use common sense, go for soft targets, if you encounter resistance, don't try to ram through with all your force.

I own the Heiho straight satin. It's a nice blade but the assist mechanism is loud and vibrates severely. Kind of like owowowowowo. I wouldn't want to be stabbed with it though.

Don't much like the japanese inspired ones. The traditional handles are the worst part of japanese weapons, they simply aren't very good. I appreciate them on a real tanto because tradition and stuff, but on something else it's just dumb. Those folders are decent though.
