You can only choose to be offended, it is not a real thing.

The first thing the Muslim woman does is change "right to offend" to "right to insult". These are different things and she knows it. It is quite possible to offend unintentionally. That is why legislating against it is ridiculous. How can someone refrain from doing something if they don't know they have done it until after the fact? And when that "fact" is a matter of subjective opinion. Insult is different. It is an intentional effort to offend. Personally, I wouldn't want intentional offence to be illegal either. As Murray points out, some things need to be mocked and derided, because they are ridiculous and contemptable, and we should be free to say so. Especially when what makes them contemptable is their desire to remove our rights and freedoms.

As a liberal, I'd never heard of Douglas. Until 10/7 and the unthinkable brain rot unfolding in the streets since then. Not sure which political side i now need to choose for the sake of my own actual survival, but i will say regardless, that Douglas Murray is a national treasure, a truth teller and a sane, intelligent human being (a rare sighting these days).

Private funding was dramatically reduced when the government of the day took away CBC's biggest revenue generators, sports, the Olympics etc. in favour of private networks like TSN. The federal government now makes up the difference but "arms length" means the government has no power to direct any of CBC's activities.
