All I want from the Briarwood arc is to see Pike's first appearance in her astral form when the crowd parts and she runs through, jumps onto the wall, then jumps off the wall into the swarm of zombies and unleashes Destroy Undead. That sequence is just so gosh-darned cinematic that it deserves to be animated.

They're so busy with everything in the company that they can barely remember what happened in the previous session - heck, sometimes even during the current session - let alone what happened YEARS ago. But hey, regardless of what makes it in the animated episodes or not, the original campaign will always be there.

For they wanted Ashley Johnson to GM and make the Fellowship complete. She was the last who had not the role of GM. Also, ask Marisha about their charitable drives. The Critters only had to hear "Honey Heist" and they gave even more freely, after which we were all blessed with three memorable one-shots where games of skill replaced some dice rolls (a Korean Fishing game for a holographic lock sequence in the first, "Don't Break The Ice" for a game testing sequence, and *spoiler alert* a bomb-defusing sequence based off of "Kerplunk!"). So there is no end to how much the Legion can summon from the depths of Direct Deposit :P

when i saw Matt panic over the idea of covering some of the lore bits, i immediately had this idea of a Lodoss Wars styled narration-with-static pictures thing. Then having it turn out to be Ashley trying to explain history to Grog. Meanwhile Grog is thinking about ale, what kind of ale the gods have... and the possibility of a one-shot of Grog Strongjaw and the Quest for the Ale of the Gods. All of which is probably an indication i was a DM for entirely too long.

When I first heard of tabletop gaming, it was a thing either done by young families at Christmas, or done in some weirdo's mother's basements. When I played my first game of D&D, it was mildly worrying to my parents since the combat sounded violent. When I DM'd my first game, D&D was just that game they played in 'Stranger Things'. When I came to see you guys at MCM London Comicon in October, the ARMY of Critters was overwelming, and the love from all of them was so amazing. The Critical Role community has done SO much for D&D, the players and DMs, and I for one, am so unapologetic for my nerdy interests. Geeks shall inherit the earth, indeed.

Josh Kaid I mean it’s not though. Briarwood is getting shrunk from 16 streams to 8 episodes. That’s a perfect balance. They could put Chroma Conclave into a 16 episode season easily in the future. Vecna with 10 more. It won’t happen with this Kickstarter but if they do it again, it’s totally viable in years from now

Yeah, I've just got here too. Discovered CR a year ago, tried to watch first episode of Campaign 1 and decided that there's just too many of them, so I went for Campaign 2. And then I had to drop it. Now I'm back at it again and have more than 40 episodes to catch up to the C2. CR crew is just too talented and entertaining, I feel kinda ashamed for dropping it last year. And I feel like I've been missing out on so much.

I'm so happy for you guys! I really started to drive into your content a few months ago and I can't get enough. I feel like the possibilities for this series is endless. But now that you've said it a few time, could we get a "we are stupid and Critters are amazing" shirt?! 😂

i didn't know this whole thing existed until late 2017. i'm so glad to be a part of this now.

Ok you know what would be cool? They have 400+ hours of content of these people playing this game, all their mannerisms, their gestures and expressions are well-documented. What if there were elements of the cast's facial expressions and body language incorporated into the animation? Not in the mocap sense, but just little things to bring heart and bits of the original show into the animation

Their acting is very important imo and the expresions and manerisms should be there, at least some. That's one of the reasons why cr is special, theese voiceactors' acting

Most professional animation studios work this way and often animators will study the actors or recordings of the actors during their vocal performance in order to capture their facial and body language. It makes the animators job easier and gives a more natural performance.

As a person who started with season 2 I really hope we can keep this going so the Mighty nein can get animated as well. I'm still watching season 1 while waiting for Thursdays but man this is so awesome

You guys do realize that at this rate there’s gonna be enough money to animated the entire first campaign AND the might Nein campaign, right?

Honestly what makes these people worth paying for is how human they are. It’s why we watch critical role, why we spend time and money supporting them, and why we love them so much. They make me love D&D all over again every time I see them laugh like best friends.

Why do I get the feeling that Matt's chair is like the Captain's Chair on Star Trek? Like, literally, Matt has a sixth sense about his chair, and thinks, "I must go...I feel as if someone is sitting in MY chair..." And then...BOOM. Finds out it's Travis, lol.

Travis :We want an animated series and.... SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! 6.5 mil atm and counting upwards with 41 days still time

Immersion and engagement can take between 4 and 8 sessions in my experience, A good GM tho will give you a 1v1 before the game, and make sure your backstory is merged with the world you will play in, and they should be open to feedback to help mould the story you want to experience. Game group dynamics can easily shift a game from a happy to unhappy experience, I urge you to keep looking for another group or GM. I wish I could help but I have no availability for players at the moment.

It brings me no end of joy that Amazon funded an *ADDITIONAL* 14 episodes.

EVERY DAMN TIME i listen to the song and watch the animation, i get chills all over my body.

After bingeing 3 episodes a day for the last 2 months. This pleases me very much.

So are we doing all of the briar wood arc in 4 episodes or ware doing 4 episodes in the brairwood arc and it is going to like stop right in the middle of the arc

Assumedly the entire arc will be finished in the 4 episodes - but if there's 6 then more moments from the arc can fit into it...

Based on the written kickstarter update, they hope to have 8 episodes for the Briarwoods, if people manage to fund it, which I'm sure they/we will.

From what I understand, the arc is currently sitting at 4 eps. For each stretch goal that's hit, they'll extend the arc by 2 eps, meaning more time to really dive in to the lore and detail of the story and take their time with telling the story as opposed to only working with 88 minutes to cram it in

Unfortunately, as with most series, they have to cut fluff, things that aren't entirely important to the plot. Things like taking 10 min [+ multiple spells + 4 points of damage] to open a door, or the long talks with Sovereign Tal'dorei about the Briarwoods. The more time they have, the more goofy fun little bits they can keep.

It's kinda sad they have to skip over the the stuff with Tiberius but it really got good after he left anyway

The new animated bit gave me so many goosebumps, so excited to be a part of this kickstarter and this community!! I absolutely cannot wait!!

We're still getting Vox Machina vs. Mighty Nein, I assume? From what I could gather from this, they want to make two episodes of Legends of Vox Machina and then pump everything into the Briarwood Arch. Am I mistaken here?

Sweet! But I wonder how they will play it? Like will each of them play both of their characters? Like just thinking about this is getting me excited and confused about how that will happen but I'm so happy it's happening!

@@Gryphon2026 Travis said some of them will play their characters from vox machina and the others from the mighty nein. So like three characters from each campaign fight.

They blew past their goals so quick that i feel they are going to get money for that arc by the end of the month anyway. Honestly i'd rather buy some merch instead. After years of free entertainment i feel like i owe them at least that much.

Based on the tier structure as it is right now, I think the math on that would work to about 11 million USD. I don't know anything about analytics on crowdfunding campaigns so I have no idea what their current expected progression would be.

Not only is the storytelling phenomenal, but the entire critical roll cast is filled with phenomenal people. I thoroughly enjoy watching you all and the joy you bring is indescribable. Thanks guys!

That's like a 24 episode season if not more. They travel the Feywild, go to the Fireplane, to the Nine Hells, fight Kevdak, have a seperate fight with preparation for each dragon, and there must be a bunch of stuff that I don't remember right now. They basically had seperate arcs to get an artifact for each party member. But yes, that would be amazing 😄
