"Critical Commands Concerning Elders" - 1 Timothy

Dr. Jordan Rogers continues preaching through the Book of 1 Timothy in this sermon from 1 Timothy 5:17-25 entitled, "Critical Commands Concerning Elders."
If we truly love the Lord Jesus, then we will value the things He values. In other words, we ought to put a high premium where the God places a high premium.
In 1 Timothy 5:17-25, we see clearly what God prioritizes as the work of a Pastor. In this text we see that God puts a double premium on Elders who excel in Church administration and in laboring hard at the preaching and teaching of God’s Word. Because these are of such importance to the Lord, these tasks must be of equal importance to God’s people. Thus, the manner in which Elders are compensated should be respective of God’s high prioritizing of these tasks. In this passage, we also see that God expects His pastors to take care of themselves, not only spiritually, but physically! Lastly, we see that God expects His pastors to take special care as to who they associate themselves with.
