Uno DX on Sega Saturn is a Japan-exclusive game I keep coming back to. NOBODY ever talks about it. It has original anime characters, a high school setting, a story mode, it allows 1 or 2 players against 1 or multiple CPU opponents. There are 11 different characters, each with their own personality. It’s in Japanese, but a little use of a translate app on camera mode & you’re set.

Hybrid Heaven is the strangest game I've ever had the privilege to play. It's almost like the game designer had three ideas (Rpg, fighting game and survival action) and didn't know which one to focus on. Normally this would be a death sentence for a game but somehow they managed to make it work.

Master of Monsters is absolutely worth playing for the music alone, might even be a top 5 soundtrack on that system. Sakimoto was pumping out some absolute bangers in the 16bit era. And while I'm on the subject of music, I find it interesting that the Bomberman franchise completely embraced Jungle and Drum & Bass for a while.

It's basically the same as the bonus levels in Cosmo Gang The Video with the differences being you have a pivoting gun, its two players, and you had to hit a light sensor in their mouths. Still it is fun to see that mechanical wonder.

Thanks for great list of games🎉. My suggestion for next will be: -Sylvan Tale - Game Gear. Recently played this japan exclusive title with fan english translation and this is BRILLIANT. This game is an top-down Zelda-like action RPG that has transformation mechanic like WonderBoy III and really good SN76489 tunes. -Nadia and the Secret of Blue Water - Sega Mega Drive. Also japan exclusive title with fan translation. This was the game based on anime series but have story difference's because uses some older scripts and released before anime ends. Gameplay is some mix of RPG and Quest genres. -Urusei Yatsura:Dear My Friends - Sega CD. Also japan exclusive but recently was translated. This is really fun point-and-click quest based on very popular anime. And made by GameArts! Despite that, I don't hear people even mention this game. But it really worth it so check it out.

There's enough there, I had so much fun with it, even with the Japanese text, there's not a ton of story like GH(apparently some Treasure devs broke off and made this game as a spiritual successor, or so I'm told).

Vasteel on the PC Engine/ TG16. It's a great strategy combat hybrid with cinematics. You pick different types of mechs, each with strengths and weaknesses and geared to specific types of terrain. The terrain also offers penalties or bonuses. And when units engage, it becomes a combat/ action game where your unit gains bonuses or penalties from the terrain. The graphics are fairly well done and the gameplay doesn't take a lot to just pick up and learn. I know Military Madness gets all the glory as the best strategy game for the PCE/ TG16 but Vasteel definitely deserves an honorable mention.

Atomic Runner looks incredible imo. The devs used a ton of real world examples of ancient civilizations and they nailed it.

After rewatching all of game sack I got a couple of ideas. Episode on good and bad bonus stages. This was after seeing an episode which has sonic 2 on the master system I think, and how you just let the timer run out on the bonus level you hate it that much. Another is a sort of update of older videos where new games have been released. For example, i think it was the best and worse of the franchise episode for metroid and dave said they need to bring a new metroid game for the switch... Well they did.

Make you own, pretty sure it's how Joe made it (use of synthetic content really should be disclaimed imo), look up Suno AI and such.

I always forget Bomberman suppose to be a Robot like Mega Man, not some weird alien who love blow up everything.

I recommend FRAM modding your N64 controller paks to make them more reliable. Most games that save on cartridges actually save on flash chips or EEPROMs. Only a few use batteries, and some of those were converted to use the controller pak in NTSC-U and PAL releases.

Great video Nice job with no spoilers on Hybrid Heaven The Fog in the skit lol Funny thing is I think it helps with the setting and mystery of Turok.

Robot Alchemic Drive, it's alot of anime drivel with terrible voice acting - but the gameplay is super fun and they really nailed the feel of huge robots fighting in a city! Really unique game that I'd love to see a sequel or re-release of.

Same, I really loved that Bomberman Hero on 64 - the graphics, music and worlds were really enjoyable. BTW: nice to see you still active on here, I remember really liking your videos back in the day when I had my own videogame channel. Hope life's treating you well.

I loved Bomberman Hero and 64 growing up. The music in the water/harbor levels specifically in 64 is one of my favorite music tracks of all time. The accordion gives it such an inspirational and uplifting sound.
