Arjun Retnavelu, Victor Alexander Arumungam, Denish Kumar Ruvy and Haresh Shannuganathan was convicted of rioting, armed with deadly weapons with common intentions and being an unlawfully secret society. They were both sentenced to 20 months in the reformative training each and 12 strokes of canes. Sharvin Raj Suraj was convicted of rioting and being an unlawfully secret society. He was senteced to 13 months imprisonment and 7 stroke of canes. Mathan Raj Kuasegaran was not involved of rioting but convicted of harboring dangerous goods. He was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and fined $6000 (Comment down if you found the imprisonment charges that is correct)

Looks like it, but given the extent of the injuries the victim had and criminal record the offenders had, it should have been more than that in terms of prison sentence..
