Credit should be given to singapore police force for team work and efficiency, apprehending the culprits fast. The problem with ireland is leniency in the judicial system in convicting the thieves, because they use Human Rights as an excuse to wrangle their way out of punishment.

Good Singapore is not a corrupted country. Singapore is fifth in the world for the least corrupted country. One can only imagine what the consequences would be if human rights applies . Singapore's judicial system is fare and square and they are role model to the rest of the world for implementing and carrying out the necessary punishment.

Talking about security at ATMs. Can the banks explain why are all of their ATMs having their screens installed vertically facing the users and at a height which allow the persons queueing right behind the users to see the information on the screen, which amongst others including the account's balance in the bank. In the earlier days, ATMs were having their screens installed lying flat horizontally. Where is the security for customers' information ??

ATM design isn't up to them; it's the manufacturer. Who we should really be asking is the people who allowed such designs to be widespread amongst ATMs.

@@laiyinquan8355 - - - If that's the case, why then those officials from MAS, Association of Banks and those management staff in the banks could allow ATMs designed with the screen panels that people queueing five feet behind the user could very clearly see the type of transactions being done and the amount of balance the user has in his/her account. Where are the security and confidentiality that the authorities have always been emphasizing about. All still sleeping, or are they waiting for some kind of monetary crimes to take place because of this before they will wake up and take action?

Yeah, that was an incredibly dumb move. That along with all of them lining up at the same row of ATMs at the same time to withdraw the money. Why not at least split up - there must be hundreds of ATMs in Singapore they could rotate through.
