@Abhi Yes. A proper functioning society for seniors who have to work till their bodies drop! A proper functioning society for migrant workers cramped in dorms where infectious diseases thrive! A proper functioning society for people who receive literacy but not much real education - only necessary for following orders and not how to think! Singapore could be so so much more - had its government committed more human rights for its people... where reasonable regulations and fair standards proliferate...

The only point I agree with yours is the literacy one, schools need to do better. But still being literate is better than being illiterate.
