Crime in SA | SAPS members urged to defend themselves when attacked
A slain Western Cape police officer has been hailed for serving his community with integrity and pride. 44-year-old Sergeant Aidon Mahoney was shot dead last week in Mamre when he and his partner responded to a domestic violence call. During his memorial service held in Atlantis, provincial police commissioner Thembisile Patekile called for his men to defend themselves when attacked. eNCA’s Nobesuthu Hejana reports. too many of our young and capable citizens are loitering and frustrated due to unemployment. crime is only going to grow worse and more sophisticated.

@@YouWell2 Education, Training and Employment opportunities can really go a long way in changing our crime stats. We also have to deal with illegal immigrants of all nationalities and races (Asians, Americans, Europeans and Africans) coming to South Africa with drugs and guns to run their underworld using us as partners in their criminal web. We have a lot of work to do as a country in ensuring our people are safe
