Crime and Punishment to go (Dostoyevsky in 11 minutes, English version)
Ойын-сауық
The student Raskolnikov commits a murder and faces the consequences. Layer by layer, Dostoyevsky's great novel unveils the psychological, moral and religious implications of the deed. Michael Sommer and his Playmobil cast present a compact and entertaining synopsis. DISCLAIMER: WATCHING THIS VIDEO DOES NOT REPLACE READING THE PLAY. My recommendation: Read it yourself, watch it in the theatre, or, preferably, stage it!

We all need a friend like Razumikhin.
I especially liked the part where they were murdered and said "ouch!"
Gave me a huge smile watching this. Crime and Punishment is one of my favorite literary works and presenting it in such a cute lighthearted summary is such a good act for humanity. Hope it encourages others to read it! The mental torture, moral fatigue, and the general state of Rodyon Romanovich Raskolnikov is something that can only be expressed in Dostoevsky's own words. Thanks again for the wonderful content!
"Would you take this watch for four rubles?" "I giva ya one and a half" *human growl*
Why doesn't this have more views

Sommer's World Literature to go my friends and family are not very literary creatures lol. id imagine the low view count is cuz pee people aren't interested in crime and punishment but I thought the video was very good and informative and if you keep creating and evolving and doing more books seeing what works, snappy titles, snappy imagery, remembering that most of us in 2017 have add, eventually you'll get at least a few hundred thousand views a video.

because it's trivial and superficial, it does introduce the names of the characters though.
I finished reading the book today. This was so entertaining, thank you!

Me too! :D Awesome book!
After reading the entire book.. I found out that my pronunciation of Russian names is horrible. Great video!
This is the first "Sommer's World Literature To Go" video I have seen. I love it! I read Crime and Punishment, and after every few chapters I would watch some of the video... which perfectly summarized the action. However the video is VERY brief, so viewers should also READ THE BOOK! However, the video was entertaining because it was slightly irreverent, but that made it fun. I highly recommend these videos -- but again, these videos should enhance the experience of the original work... not replace it.
he receives a letter *good news* "Dunya has been molested and fired" hahahaha
I feel like the Sonia doll really captures her essence Haha
Thanks for saving my ass, I have a test about the book in an hour and I've only read 30 pages of it

In the Russian school, we were also tormented by Dostoevsky. I really fell in love with it when I was over 40. A great writer
Damn I wasted all that time reading when I could have just watched this.

That is how I feel lol! It is a really good summary.
I am so glad to finally hear the names! I have no clue how to pronounce them while reading. 🤣 Also I love the simple summary. I legitimately believe that Razumikhin is in love with Rodia though. I keep seeing random actions, either Rodia commenting on things or Razumikhin acting "oddly."
Arguably the best thing I've seen on KZread in years. Well done.
Amazing review to try and remember all of the important scenes! I usually love watching reviews prior to rereading my highlights of the book as it really completes my memory process. Amazing job!!

Thank you so much - I'd appreciate it, if you would share it!
Very nicely orchestrated, fitting the novel into 11 minutes. The visual aspect really helped it sink in too! Thank you!
This is amazing! I just finished the book and I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything ! Love it
I have never heard of you before, but this is so damn brilliant that you now have a new subscriber for life. Cheers!
amazing! just discovered your channel, these are wonderful. Your narration is very entertaining.
I appreciate all the work you put into this. Thanks for posting! *new subscriber*
This narrator and this unusual 'action figures' as well as this witty portrayal are all brilliant.
Finished the book and saw the movie last night. This is a great add, will never forget the events now!
Absolutely outstanding! You've an amazing talent. Congratulations!
great description ...love you sir
I subscribed your channel just after watching this. You're amazing.
Read it in my teens and again in my late 30's and was shocked at how it had influenced my life - conceptually speaking.
Amazing! Good work, man.
Love your work, it's fun and educational at the same time 💞
this is the best summary of crime and punishment i loved every single bit of it
That was awesome man, Thank you
I think you missed the part where he kills himself because he poisoned his wife. The sister was his last chance at redemption to suffer as her slave. She refused him so he killed himself. Roskalnakov sees this as his future and realizes it's either madness or redemption
I've gotta write 3 book reports and take an important test tomorrow TELL ME EVERYTHING I've been too lazy
wowww....unique and nice style to explain the novel ..very helpful may god bless you..
This is a fine, bare-bones summary, but it does skip a lot of the psychological parts of the piece, and the depth of the characters. Dostoyevsky creates incredible tension and a very visceral description of the emotions of his characters. This summary also omits some of the greater themes and philosophies of the book. In this novel, it is less important exactly what events happen, as to how the characters deal inwardly with the events, and without this you miss the most important part. I'd urge anybody who hasn't read this book to read it. If audiobooks are more your speed, there are some fantastic recordings on KZread (the 3-part one on Audio Books Classic 2 channel is very good). Dostoyevsky's writing makes you feel something deep.
Awesome!
Forgot to mention at the end that Razumihin and Avdotya marry and their mother dies :'(
Great video!

Holy Hell what drag to read, slugging through it though. Can't wait to finish and get back to using 1 per cent of my brain reading Stephen King. Oh! and awesome job on the video too! Very Good!
Holy shit! 😲That video is so strangely accurate!!!😄 Congratulations!!!👍👏👏👏
this helped to explain some of the parts that the Russian naming had confused for me. Very funny as well. Thanks! :)

This was great - by far the best video summary or Crime and Punishment. I'm quite surprised that it doesn't have many more views...if you are looking to get more views, may suggest something a bit 'controversial': if you review a mainstream book, such as 50 shades of grey (I know, it's a terrible book) it may get your channel a ton more views and familiarise people with this form of clever presentation (with the figures). Just a suggestion :)
Very clever but a tad superficial😏
CLEAN YOUR ROOM
Still I don’t care great video I’m sorry I’m ocd
had to read this for school and i, a fool, actually read it instead of just watching this
