The quickest and correct way for knocking is hitting the mallet at 45deg angle so mallet slides of the face on impact. That way you can hit harder and knocking can be done faster as well. In couple of hours a bat can be ready.

Bats are pressed in the factory , that gives a bats it bow and ping. Most companies do not knock in bats bar GM with GM now, the knocking in compresses fibers and makes it lasts and reduces cracking in the bat .

Always remember its better to UNDEROIL the bat rather than OVEROILing the bat!!! I guess you overoiled your bat!!! always use raw lindseed oil!!! There are few videos available on you tube which tells us how to oil the bat!!!

My new bat already comes with a sheet on the face so how should I put oil there..??
