My AA Velvet doll has the same color knob and belly button as her lovely skin tone. I think sometimes the factory ran out of the darker knobs and used the lighter ones, or someone may have replaced it with parts from another skin tone doll.

I love to watch your videos but do so mainly to see the dolls and for entertainment. Even though you often provide valuable information, I wish that you would do more research so that your information is more accurate and doesn't sound so much like you are guessing. I have black Velvet dolls and they do have black knobs for the hair. Not all black Velvet dolls have the white knob. Cricket's shoes are actually Crissy shoes. The blue dress for Cricket is actually a Bride's Maid dress and was advertised as such in the catalogs. Tressy (also a Sears exclusive), who is Crissy sized came with the wedding gown (there are two versions of it.). Crissy collectors also actually do consider Tara to be part of the Crissy family. I also immediately remove any packaged clothing from the packages (the horror, I know). I have found packaged clothing molded in the back, with snaps that have completely rusted shut and fabric that has faded in the front but is vibrant in the back or in the creases - and wait until you have open an outfit and it is full of those little bug skeletons (yuck!). I feel clothing is safer on the doll, then in a package.

Hello vintage doll hunters! I have a talking Jill Doll from playmates, and we have a problem. Under her hair, her scalp is very sticky. I’m not sure what that is whether it’s plasticizer or mold or what it is. Just in case you don’t know about this old girl from 1987, she is an electronic dull that uses tapes and responds to voice commands. I’m totally blind so I don’t know if this stuff has a color or what but I don’t want to let it go. Or am I freaking over nothing? Will she be OK if I just let it alone?

Sorry to say but Cricket doll has wrong shoes.
