2:36 correction!! everything except the bat and gloves is considered a leg if that body part (eg: helmets/batters head) is blocking a ball inline of the stumps !! Just some intricacies of cricket rules 😅

Thanks for the heads-up, Pritam! Cricket rules sure have their quirks - so basically, everything but the bat and gloves is pulling double duties! 🤣🏏🧤🎯 Just saw that classic video of Steve Buckner raising his finger when Sachin got hit on the shoulder in Australia. Who knew our heads and helmets would be so handy? 😂 Appreciate the insight! We are loving this game. Do pass the word across and show us your ❤️. @@PritamSingh-lv2cdit maybe every body part considered according to rule, but 99 percent of time ,it is legs only. If ball is too high(as other body parts are too high),even if they hit any body part, it will miss the stumps and its not out. Now everything depends on ‘Ball tracking’ . Sometimes ball is rising and misses stumps on ball tracking even after hitting knees of batsman.

0:19 Not true. It wasn't always restricted to 5 Days, that came later probably post WW2. The USA vs CAN 1844 match you're talking about isn't considered a Test match nor a First Class match (which is regrettable) was a 3 Days match from 24-26 September 1844. Argentina traditionally played North vs South Cricket matches domestically since 1800s, they were probably 2 Days matches but I'm not completely sure.

@@AmeriCricketMedia I know some & a lot of it is what I've read in different articles on the internet. I once saw on youtube a Mayor somewhere in Florida saying that Baseball was born as a result of English children trying to play Cricket on English beaches unable to bounce the Balls. I've known that Baseball came from England to America but didn't know that, although it's hard to verify it & he was giving a speech in front of a Cricket loving audience for inauguration of some local Cricket tournament so take it with a grain of salt. But it's true that many of the early pro Baseballers came from Cricket coz Cricket wasn't a professional sport at the time (even the Catchers behind the Batters used to initially wear Cricket pads meant for Batsmen). This is similar to how Rugby got split into Union & League as players wanted to make a living & that was looked down upon by administrators in England, so Rugby League was born to allow players become professional. Similarly in Cricket playing for money was looked down upon especially in England where professionals were called Players & amateurs were called Gentlemen, so professionalism in Cricket was a slow development. Also in USA baseball was promoted as a purely American invention referring Cricket as being Imperial & British, so patriotism too was definitely used for the early promotion of baseball while Cricket didn't do anything about it. Then comes the founding of ICC (then Imperial Cricket Conference, now International Cricket Council) in 1909 which at least in my opinion was the final & possibly the biggest blow to Cricket in USA (& some other countries) coz membership was restricted to only countries in British Empire. This basically killed Cricket in USA but also Argentina & other countries where it was slowly taking off as most talented players focused on playing only with ICC members (initially just 3 ENG, AUS & SA). Also some of the very talented Cricketers in US couldn't keep playing high level Cricket either as Cricket Clubs sometimes did visit England to play County Cricket Clubs. Till the early 1900s I think USA probably had as much Cricket talent (& in some cases even more) than many Cricket nations who are very high ranking today including IND, WI, NZ (all 3 became ICC members 22 yrs later in 1931). Membership opened for all countries in 1965 when USA along with some other countries became new ICC members but it was probably too late to repair any damage as new generation (over 3 decades later now) wasn't familiar with Cricket. Now you're going through a revival due to immigrants, you people are basically starting a 2nd Innings in the game. I think an American has made a good video explaining a lot of it. I'll just post that video here in this thread when I find it, I hope I can post a link of other youtube video here coz sometimes comments with video links simply disappear.
