Crewe Open Day.June 8th All exhibits on view inside/outside

Despite heavy rain all day I endeavoured to capture all the exhibits on view plus the passing railtours and freight passing the depot.
A well-presented display of all their stock and special visitors. Thanks to all concerned in the organisation of the Open Day

Nice work, I find it amazing that even on the new 68 class loco's they are using hook & loop couplers, would have thought they would have gone auto knuckles on all freight now with full auto couplers om pass rolling stock.. Guess here in Australia that's all we ever knew was the yank style knuckle auto couplers.. Must add that I grew up in York with the Deltics and slugs between the slowly exiting steam of the early 60's..

Excellent work, really capturing the atmos.Hope youve dried out by now! Can I be a pain & ask some questions? Is this the first Crew open day under Hoskings occupation of the depot? Also, could you possibly consult your program-notes, and tell me if MrHosking owns the following; 37's 606 &608 , 08 762 , 43048& 423, 47 712 .l only ask because im unclear about what he owns & what he doesnt, I have a bit of interest as I volunteered at Southall for a while in 2010, and like to keep up with how the operation is going. My requests for info to LSL go unanswered, despite telling them I actually worked for them.Feels a little rough.Anyway, rant over, cheers for the vid.

The HST power cars belong to East Midlands Trains, the 37s fall under ROG I believe and the 08 is hired in. I think 47712 is from the Crewe Heritage Centre but is being brought back to mainline operation by LSL.

Nick Wilcock thanks for the info, and so promptly.I forgot to ask, did they have a wheeldrop? Also, nobody seems to have footage of the paintshop.Im assuming it was off-limits?

@@grahamcoote9208 I'm not sure about a wheel drop. I wasn't looking for that detail. I'm guessing the paint shop is where the Deltic numbered as DP2 was

Never ceases to amaze me how many ignorant people there are when you are clearly shooting video. If they aren't walking across your shot they start talking once they've got their precious photo. Still, nice footage though.

On-Track Rail Films are people' doing that deliberately?

I've had people who can clearly see I'm filming but they decide to talk before shutting camera off. I don't understand why they can't just wait until people stop recording. Had quite a few walk in front of camera too. There's just no need for it. I try to be courteous to others and we're all there for the same thing. I suppose at events like Crewe it's inevitable as there's so many people there but it's a different story if you are in a field somewhere and there's only a couple of people there.
