in the 70's my next door neighbor had a cabin in the Lake Isabel highlands off a road called Sawmill road by Scotties Marina. We went into an old mine and I found a Prince Albert tobacco can that still had a little tobacco. like new, It was very old but had not seen the sun in over 70 years. I took it. I was only 11 or 12 back then. I used it as a pocket fishing tackle holder and when I was 16, I got hit by a car on my bike, corner of harbor bl and imperial hwy. I was hurt bad, in a coma, they said Id never walk again, bla bla bla But my fishing poles, reels tackle, bike and Prince Albert can were all gone! When I see these cans, I remember the lures and jigs I used to carry in them. Weird how the human mind works, relates things with other things and organize's them all on its own. Be careful in those mines my friend, do be in one in a slide or collapse with be a horrible way to go.

Wow, crazy story Alan! I've yet to find one with tobacco inside, interesting you mentioned that because the mine I just went to last week had a cigarette with tobacco still in it. Amazing you fully recovered and more, gotta love perseverance like that. Appreciate you taking the time to watch!

Man I randomly stumbled across your channel and recognized this thumbnail immediately. I took the same photo and many others of this mine. If I remember correctly the lower level drifts were pretty barren of any artifacts but the first few drifts had a lot of cool stuff still. This mine as well as a few others in the area I used to explore with my friends and our favorite mine was the one next to the old cemetery. Glad I found this video it made me go through all my old photos of this place from 3-4 years ago.

How is it that you seem to find the coolest mines? Out of all the exploration videos I watch, nobody beats your explores. You have an incredible eye for detail that noone else has. I have to ask though, will you be going back to finish exploring this mine? Am really curious to what other treasures might be found! Stay safe!

That was awesome and extra long which I like. Talk about artifacts! Keep an eye out for clothing, shirts, blue jeans etc. They could be valuable.

I thought I noticed a pair of work gloves in one of the upper side stopes you explored. They were next to something else you'd picked up to look at.

towards the end, you mentioned you saw a really nice vein and that it probably had gold in it. Can you or could you pick at the vein and take anything with you?

That box labeled 'De Vine appears to be from a packing Company, so my guess is that it once had held tomatoes. Does that Hires Root Beer bottle appear to be made of glass or plastic? My view of it was a little uncertain. Nice explore, thanks and stay safe.

Perhaps the drawings represented the conditions of working in the mine was “hell” metaphorically speaking for them

That Lucky Strike cigarette pack is a collector's item. Too bad it was crushed. The U.S. military needed all the green paint and dye for camouflage in WWII so R.J. Reynolds ran a campaign along with changing the Lucky Strike Green to Red that said, 'Lucky Strike has gone to war.' Actually, a pack of LS had to be full and unopened to get premium prices from collectors of $50 to $75. Pretty cool mine. Looks like you got there before the thieves. Nice video.

@3:47 - You show us a Muck Sheet ( in good condition ) and yet no others were apparent in the areas of the mine that you showed us , as the piles of Dirt & Rock burying the Rails testify . Lol . Also , you do realize don't you , that those scraps of Newspapers are what the Miners used for ''Toilet Paper'' .

The Burge shovel at the end of the video you found was made starting in 1888 and the company is still in business today in KC Missouri....glad you're finding dates on stuff, but look for a date on EVERY Dynamite box you find,mostly because that will tell you how early the mine was worked but also because NONE OF YOU explorer's do that!!!!!!!
