After the 70’s, did it feel like the 70’s were over? I think often of what it would be like growing up in my parents time and how the music surrounding me would affect the experience over what little experience I experienced now in 2024. I woke up thinking of this song today because I watched a Vietnam movie the other day and only thought about how even this song must’ve set such a vibe - locally and internationally. As someone half your age I feel like the 2010’s blended into the 2020’s mainly because there’s no soul in our music or society anymore. This is a question I know I could easily ask my parents, but I think I would get more insight from a stranger’s point of view.

@@8liontv after the 70s, most of us were raising kids and listening to Sesame Street. But occasionally going out. In my experience the 80s blended into the 90s. Then our kids left the nest ( if we were lucky ) 2000s meant nothing to me musically.

I am 63 and played CCR for my children growing up. Music was always in our home. Last mother's day, we went to my daughter's home up in Austin. We live 1 hours down the hwy in San Antonio. When we got there in her backyard was playing this CCR. She said Happy Mother's Day mom, I still remember dancing with you to CCR. ROCK ON CCR, MANY GENERATIONS ARE LISTENING!!!

He was arrested and a neighbor drove over an hour at Midnight to pick me up. That same man was a crackhead and an alcoholic and in and out of my life more times than I can count and a lot of those times were fucked up. The thing is, the fucked up things shape who you are and you have to be resilient and take the good things from them. Don't let the negative shit turn you into a negative person. I'm the same age and my parents are older but I LOVE 50s-late-80s music. Music started to die around the late 90s and all this rap and fake country where pop stars try to sing country, but they could take some tips from Marty Robbins and Johnny Cash but anyway love the music!
This has to be the best cover of any song by a rock band ever. I can't think of one better,

Hate to break it to ya, but we are technically considered the old end of what they call a, "millennial". I was born in 86', but I also don't associate myself with that whiny group. According to Google it is 81'-96'. I strongly disagree, because I grew up with much different musical tastes, and social perspective than millennials, but I don't make these arbitrary classifications.
memories of weekends in the car with my father in the depths of France. CCR forever
Viva la CCR!
