This song came out when my first born son was a baby. The line “ I hope he’s not like me” hit hard because I have a lot of demons I hoped he could avoid. And “I don’t know if I’m ready to be the man I have to be.” Great song that still hits me hard. As him as a young man now helping me cook Easter dinner today I realize, mission accomplished. Thank you for doing this.

It's not very fashionable these days to be a Creed fan, but as a die-hard '80s Metal-Head I freely admit I appreciate what Creed did. Very meaningful, thoughtful lyrics over those heavy Tremonti guitars.

Creed and Nickelback were/are the 2 nearly universally hated bands of the 2000's. My limited understanding of why they are hated on so much is because nearly all of their popular songs sound alike. Sometimes it's hard for me to differentiate Higher, One More Breath, and My Sacrifice because the melodies sound so interchangeable.

@Zoe Gartham I feel you could say that about a lot of bands from that era though don’t you? But I’ve definitely heard that as a criticism of them. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I think they’re no worse than any of the grunge bands from the 90s.

I love this band, even though they've gotten really bad reviews and most people hate them, but I don't care. I've liked them from their first album and have seen them live and they were great. Being a Christian myself, I love the messages in their music and I wish they were still together. It's unfortunate what happened to their lead singer, and all the troubles he's been through. I hope some day that they can get together again as a band.

Creed is simply awesome and very talented with a great sound. I play their greatest hits for part of my playlist. I was fortunate enough to see them live in concert in the 90s. Their opening band at the time was Nickelback (when they were just getting started). I'll never forget the lead singer for Nickelback at the end of their set asking the crowd to make sure and talk to the radio stations to play their stuff. Bigtime self promoting and of course they obviously rose to fame (definite two sides of the fence with fans on that band haha).

When this song was new I was in high school. And there was one kid named Travis but his nickname was Spanky. We were on the golf team together and he was absolutely obsessed with this band. And I remember very vividly most of the rest of the team making fun of him for that a lot. And I remember hearing a lot of people make fun of creed and people that listen to it a lot like they did with Nickelback. And I've never understood why that happened with either band because they both kick ass. And they were both really successful briefly. It's as weird as Limp Bizkit being made fun of today. When in the 90s there was nobody bigger. And there's NEVER been anybody bigger since Limp Bizkit in the 90s either. The only popularity that ever even claim close to theirs was Beyoncé at her peak. And Destiny's Child in the 90s would have licked Limp Bizkits boots to be able to open for them just one time.
