"8 minutes of raw power"
The director poses a simple question to open Creed's part in
'Vacuum': "What do you like to get out of a surfboard?" What follows is a sequence of surfing that has matured like a fine Margaret River Cabernet. Creed's passion for surfing is real; his surfing transcends fun and is backed up with a legit rail game. When asked about his surfboard preferences, Creed responds, "I'a be looking for drive, something that never slides out."
With his boards stretched out and fins glassed in, his surfing has undergone a significant transformation towards power and finesse.
Over a year of filming went into the part shot across the North Coast of New South Wales, as well as return visits to his former stomping grounds in the West. From scoring iconic waves at The Box to collecting some of the most prime rail surfing on hidden East Coast corners, Creed's part unfolds over nearly eight minutes of footage.
It's more than a part; it's an experience.
