This could also be a commercial for whiteboards. I want one now. And.. of course that flashy keyboard.

Loads of great tips here although the one that blew me away was writing the scenes out of sequence.

Several amazing writers actually do pretty much the opposite. They just start with a premise and see where it leads them. Stephen King does it that way. Hayao Miyazaki literally starts by drawing things and seeing if he can string them together.

Anyone know what program he's using at 4:36? He writes a question in double brackets and it looks as though a link is created, which I presume will be a document he will write later. I do a lot of roughing out in Pages and would really value a feature like this.

He uses Fountain, a syntax system he co-created himself. the [[-syntax is to add notes to the script. The syntax can easily be converted to PDF, Final Draft format and so on. The program he uses is probably Highland or Slugline, one of the programs made for MacOS to work intelligently with Fountain scripts, although you can use any editor you want with Fountain. Fun fact: I watched this video specifically to see Fountain in action in that scene. I think it's not well known enough for what it does, it can save you a lot of money and safe your face by learning about correct formatting early on.
