30 years ago, my son and I were walking in our woods and I cut out two young hardwood trees for walking sticks. I peeled the bark off mine and left it on my sons. Mine lasted about 12 years and I just called him in California and he still has his. It's as hard as steel now. He's been a Marine since 2009. Thought I'd add, we let them dry naturally and his never cracked a bit

I've been doing this sort of thing for many years, here's one of my favorite tips for you, cut your saplings after the leaves fall off and cut them much longer than needed, keep them for at least a full year before you remove the bark, boiled linseed oil is my choice to seal the ends

Fortunatamente ho velocizzato quindi l ho fatto durare 1 minuto.

@@mzondi1970 so, let's just say that every wood worker near forests goes out and cuts, let's say 10 saplings a week, to make canes and walking sticks. That's 40 trees a month for just 1 wood worker. I know at least 10 cane makers. That's 400 a month. It grows exponentially every person that salvages live wood. You can't be ok with that.
