Step 1: Choosing the Product
For this project, our product type is joggers. This is a great starting point because joggers are a versatile and popular garment.
Step 2: Deciding on the Decoration Method
Next, we'll decide how to decorate these joggers. Today, we'll be using silicone HTV (heat transfer vinyl). This method provides a unique texture and durability, perfect for activewear.

Our theme for this project is sports. This opens up a lot of creative possibilities, from professional sports logos to school team designs. For inspiration, we'll look at professional sports logos, particularly those with bold color blocking and silhouette designs.
Design Process
With our theme in mind, I'm thinking of incorporating our Wall-E Bee mascot with a design inspired by professional sports logos. These logos often feature red, white, and blue color schemes with a silhouette effect.
I'll start by creating a rectangular shape that fits our Wall-E Bee. This shape will have rounded corners and a white stroke to make it stand out. I'll then split the background into two parts, using red and blue to mimic the classic sports logo color blocking.
Preparing for Cutting
Once the design is finalized in Illustrator, I'll prepare it for cutting. It's crucial to outline strokes and ensure everything is grouped correctly for a clean cut. I'll use Pathfinder tools to unite shapes and create the necessary bleed for overlapping colors, minimizing gaps.
Cutting and Weeding
With our design ready, I'll load red and blue EasyWeed vinyl along with silicone HTV into the cutter. After cutting, I'll weed the excess material to reveal our design.
Pressing the Design
For the pressing process, I'll start with the red layer, followed by the blue, and finally the white silicone HTV. I'll use a heat press pillow to ensure even pressure, especially around zippers and seams.
Adding a Back Design
I decided to add a small, subtle design on the back pocket area using just the white silicone HTV. This adds a nice touch and balances the overall look of the joggers.
Marketing the Finished Product
Once the joggers are complete, it's time to market them. Using Canva, I'll create an Instagram story with a baseball field background to give it a summery feel. If you don't have a model, you can use stock photos provided by suppliers like SanMar. I'll add the logo to the joggers in the photo and include text that says "Game Day Gear."
