Would love to the see the video of your storage wardrobe, totally learning a lot from your experiences in creating a wardrobe that works for you

A lot of style youtubers will say, "I'll get it hemmed", or "I'll get it taken in", and beyond asking my mom to do those things, I have no idea how you would find and work with a tailor. Please could you do a video about what it's like to get clothing adjusted? Thank you love! x

Where I live at least you can find inexpensive tailoring shops at most malls. You bring in what you want fixed, they take some measurements and then you pick it up in a couple days.

Hemming is really easy to do yourself, but I work at a shop where we do a load of alterations and it's as simple as you bring it in, we pin it while your wearing it or you provide us with an inside leg measurement, and you come back when you get a text saying its done, not as intimidating as you probably think :)

I think a wardrobe edit is the perfect name and definition for it ! I much prefer it to a capsule wardrobe (which is too limiting for me) and it’s so much better than mindless, constant, consumerism.

penniless optimist - Exactly, it allows you to be mindful about your fashion purchases w/o being too limited. You can upgrade your clothes from depop, vintage shops, markets, and charity shops if you want to stay away from fast fashion.

agreed! i love lucy and we tend to share the same style aesthetics, but i'm really trying to be more sustainable in my purchases and would love for her to explore different environmentally conscious brands. i loved almost every piece in this video but i won't be buying anything from urban, topshop or arket :/

I’m back from my first year in college in America and I’ve started trying to find personal style and I’ve learned that I really love winter and fall clothes and have a good idea of what I like, but I have such a problem with summer. I love in Colorado which has a pretty varied but hot summer. This video is what I need for inspiration to actually get a summer wardrobe

Wow it's so funny, Lucy wears SUCH a different style of clothes than I do, but I still adore these videos and somehow feel inspired to stretch my own style a little bit whenever I watch these vids.

I feel this so hard. I have been living in hand-me-downs for so much of my life that I haven't been able to dredge up an individual style for such a long time. Only just now making informed choices about what to keep and what to pass on. Trying to put away the mindset of scarcity. I pull out the clothes I have and I feel obliged to keep stuff that I would love someone else or that gives good memories of people who gave them to me. Letting that go and finding out what I truly love and what suits my style is a journey I'm still very much on. I love that you don't hide these experiences.

Just before you said you had an issue with your arms, I was genuinely thinking how amazing your arms looked in the white off the shoulder top! I’ve always struggled with them too and am trying to wear things that don’t cover them up-Love the wardrobe ❤️

Started showing my arms a few years ago to get over the insecurity and now i don’t even think about it. Hope you feel more comfortable everything looks great!

I love that kind of videos. I don't really like capsule wardrobe as I find them too restrictive, but I definitely prefer a more curated wardrobe, filled with pieces that I absolutely love. I would love to see a video of when you went through the depths of your storage, to see a little more of your thoughts process while you were creating your summer wardrobe.

Im really loving warm golden buttery yellow this year! I tend to lean towards darker colours, deep blue and green and burgandy, but this year I'm enjoying a little bit of yellow. And PINK! I have jumped on the blush pink train XD

She doesn't have an interest, honestly, otherwise she'd not buy from Urban and Topshop. Watch Kristen Leo for a lot better content on sustainability.. download the app GoodOnYou to check whether brands are on the right track sustainability wise, use Depop/United Wardrobe for second hand clothes and/or search for thrift shops in your neighbourhood :)

Where's your wardrobe from? I'd love to see a wardrobe tour or how you organize your clothes! Do you hang all of them? Also, somehow it never occurs to me that I could get some of my clothes altered. i am FEELING the short struggle right now. i'm trying to lean back into my femininity this summer (mostly for fuckin comfort cos men's shorts are HEAVY and LONG and i work outside which is a sweaty experience) and i have this picture in my mind of like. slightly high waisted jean shorts that sit like mid-thigh so i can wear them to work but i cannot find any to save my FREAKING life. it's ridic. tbf i've mostly checked my usual haunts (i.e. h&m and forever 21 lol) and i should probably try a few slightly higher end stores like a levi's or frank and oak but GOOD LORD you'd think black jean shorts would be easier to find but apparently not. also u made me miss my cream converse they're not practical for me at all bc i get everything i own dirty at work but geez i did love the ones i had when i was at university.

I wear a medium and it is quite oversized! If you want it to cover your bum, I’d go with an XL/XXL x

wait does the 30 day rule mean you need to wear an item for at least 30 times before getting rid of it? to me that seems like a very few wears, or did i understand this wrong? 30 times would be the same as wearing an item everyday for one month... and then throw it away? thats... not very eco-friendly? do people really use their clothes so few times that even 30 times seems a like a lot to them? pls tell me if i got this wrong and she meant something else!

I think that's kind of the point? People who are really into fast fashion (and I know I have done this) will buy a piece of clothing intending to wear it for that one event or because it's flashy and new without really thinking about its life after or how it can fit into their wardrobe. So maybe 30 times is a low bar but I think if you're in that mindset or that spending habit it might just be enough to deter someone from impulse buying

Yeah the idea (can't remember where it originates) is that 30 wears is the absolute low bar - that you should ask yourself before you buy if you will definitely get 30 wears out of it. Unfortunately, there are many, many people who will wear an item MUCH less than this. Hard me to understand, too!

Yeah I think the first time I heard about it was through Emma Watson, who was vowing to wear all of her red carpet pieces at least 30 times and so chose looks that were relatively versatile. I remember thinking that it seemed like a lot for some of those really specialty pieces that she was wearing for promotion but in a normal person's life you should be able to wear your clothes far more than just 30 times

PandoraRoman oh okay, well, for red carpet pieces it definetly does sound more reasonable! with normal clothing the rule should be counted in years, not times of wearing an item, imo 😅

I've noticed that some of your high waist trausers are loose on you on the waist area. I have the exact same problem with that kind of trousers, because I've got wide hips and a small waist. How do you solve it??

Hai Dian the only solution would be to take them to a tailor and get them taken in at the waist or wear a belt

I dream about having an easy, “matching” wardrobe but I struggle so much because I gravitate towards colour. 😐 I also feel like I would have to get rid of so many pieces if I were to pick a palette and edit my closet after it. Everything is so messy and uncoordinated. Patterns and colours all over. It’s so hard! Where do you even begin?

Rikke honestly I’d look up examples of people wearing colour/pattern clashing clothes! If you love colour wear it! Not everyone can love beige like Lucy 😂

I go to a professional! I would hem stuff myself but I don’t have room to buy a sewing machine or the skill to do it by hand
