This could have been such an epic film, it was gorgeous, but it went so awry. It was so hard to watch. Also her accent is comes through so often in scenes . Also why film in the same room Marilyn passed away in? There were so many weird boundaries crossed. Why does she continue to be used and assaulted post mortem? Weird. Triggering at times.

I thought the graphic scenes were needed to just open the door to a conversation about how women were or are still being treated in the entertainment industry. Is it really that hard to believe that women are expect to “perform” regardless if they want to or not? I believe that have been and still are women being exploited and manipulated by people around them with ill intentions. Yes this is a fictionalized movie but is it really a large leap to being actually true? Or God forbid it could have been worse for Marylin and any other female (or males) who become victims in the name of fame and money

Of all of the actresses who have portrayed Marilyn Monroe in so many films, Ana de Armas is hands down the prettiest and the one who resembles the late blonde bombshell the most. I've been looking at video clips of other actresses portrayal and even the much hyped Michelle Williams is not as convincing as Ana. Also, Andrew Dominick's production quality is the best. The hair, makeup, clothing, background, props, etc... He literally brings the photographs to life! It's a shame that he and Ana have been subjected to a smear campaig. I hope that Ana is able to float above the unfair and absurd accusations and win an Oscar that she so richly deserves.

i really wish this was all the movie was about.. giving homage to those who contributed to marilyn’s stardom (the costumes&movies) and the impact she’s had on american pop culture instead of having to show her in such an awful light and making up stories just to infantilize her. we all can see that the movie is better off without watching her go through/do some of the horrible things that they made her do. the story would not have been affected and probably would have had actual fans and appreciation. but because it went into a route where marilyn is exploited and fetishized to serve the male perspective, we are being fed false ideas or stories used to validate the public’s fantasies about marilyn and what she might have been like “under the costumes”. the movie is a complete mess and it’s such a waste as well because the cinematography really is beautiful and so is ana. i’m very disappointed.

i haven't seen the movie yet but i bet there is nothing about hell she's been through prior to her rise to fame and hell she's been through throughout her life as celebrity. Times when she was active as known as golden age of hollywood but that age is overshadowed by what girls and women had to do to become actresses. For me personally golden age of hollywood is disguise for crimes comitted during that era, crimes nobody talks about. Marlyn had hard life before rise to fame and that didn't change. People who could have help her back then didn't because they saw her as tool to make money, nothing more. Read about her life and see for yourself what happend to girl who wanted to find love.

She made a good and respectable effort with the acting. However, it is not "Oscar Worthy" as many say. Just because she resembles her image in some scenes or because she went into extremes with the crying, yelling etc in comparison to her previous movies, that doesn't trully make it a phenomenal piece of acting. The way she sounds is accurate but only when you think of certain roles Monroe was in like Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Marilyn was much more than the blonde bombshell she and the director portrayed here. Although she made a good effort to represend an image of Marilyn, i don't think Ana is going to be nominated for any acting awards, i am sorry. Too supeficial and in some scenes there was quite a bit of overacting/exaggeration IMO.

As if the English speakers only play roles of another english speakers lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and as if there weren't many different English accents lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣 so those who grew up in Australia, can only play the role of another Australian, and so on, lol 😂😂😂😂 so many absurd and stupid comments here, you just show you're jealous haters, racist against a CLEARLY WHITE WOMAN playing the role of ANOTHER white woman who looks JUST LIKE HER BY THE WAY.

Agreed! And i dont get how Ana is amazing like others say. As an actor she cant even hide her accent and she had an accent coach for 9mos?! Jeez. Ana is gorgeous and all but i dont see Marilyn in her she just looks like Ana with a wig and a breathy tone..her acting is awful the film is awful disgusting and the worst Ive seen. 🥺

@@17pinksoda as if Australians could just play the role of an Australian because of the Australian accent lol as I said, all these stupid comments criticizing ana are just stupid and jealous!!! You can't stand that a spanisch actor doesn't just make the role of the woman who cleans the house, even if it's a CAUCASIAN Spanish speaker.

Armas smiles in pictures with her fans, but in real life she hates and despises her fans.
