This was simply awesome and definitely on time for me. I like the second way. Thank you so much!!!! Very Helpful!
Second method is best! Thank you for this. I was mystified by the contour tool. It's opened whole new worlds!
Great video. Helped me to understand the "Contour" feature of Design Space. Thanks!
Thank you! I learned a lot from this video! Your time is so appreciated, BRAVO!
Thank you so much Selena, I have been looking for a simple video to help me out. I have seen plenty on how to put it together on a surface, but none like the one you've posted. Thanks again
Thanks so much , new to Cricut and you've made learning something I've been searching for so much easier to understand... Definitely a new fan now

YOU just saved me like 300000 hours of research!! thank you!!
You have just won a sub! Thank you so much!
thank you so so much you are so talented! thank you best youtube video on vinyl period she gets to the point!
Great tut! One thing I would suggest, because I'm picky about it, lol. When bringing in the layers (with the easier method) instead of moving them around, hide them. That way they're all lined up correctly.
Great tutorial. Easy to follow. Thank you.
Thank you for such a good video. Very helpful

Thank you so much I had to do this for class and I was really confused

Great video... how would I print this multi layer image?

How do you go about printing the different layers once you have them organized as you showed in the video and lining everything up together? Thank you. Your video was very helpful.

I assume by now you will have found out how to write with the cricut machine. If not, look on the Menu panel where it says: ADD TEXT click on that and then type your preferred text. Over on the Layers Panel, you will see the first letter of the first word you typed and by default it will be set for the Cut option. You need to click on the little scissors icon which will bring up the Layers Attributes window where you can then choose to either Print - Write - Score or Cut. Choose Write and then put a cricut pen in the 'A' holder on your cricut machine and you are good to go. You don't have to stick to using cricut pens as there are plenty other pens you can use such as the multi-coloured Gel sets, Sharpie's etc but you do need to purchase a pen adapters to be able to use these other types from "Chomas Creations." Type that into Google and it will take you to the website. Amy is the name of the lady you will be dealing with. Hope this helps.
Than you so much for sharing. :-)
When cutting it'll have to be cut 3 different time do to the colors right?
So do you just have to eyeball the layers when you print them all out separately?
Thank You!
beautiful voice great tutorial. Thanks.
Thanks for video
To you have a link to your Facebook page. I found your personal page, but didn't know if you had one just for your tutorials . Thank you.
Hi could you help me out with a buccaneers logo. Thanks for this video btw
I have an issue with a logo containing straight lines.. for some reason when I hide white areas next to straight lines, sometimes the straight line become slightly curved. How do I fix this? I would greatly appreciate you help.
So helpful
how do I get an image with two layers to cut on my cricut explore air 2? some of the information you give is the same with my machine but then some is different. I cant get the image to the high contour part. How do I do that? I am new to the machine thanks
Could you do a Dallas cowboys star? With the printing and everything.
Any idea why my Cricut wouldnt have the option for contouring when I right click? Am I missing something or not clicking the right thing?
so, if you don't "hide contour" the star, will is cut it out so the white background shows through or will it want to cut a white star?
I don't have the option high contrast. Just bought circut explore air 2 and can't find it
How would you do this on vinyl?
If possible can you help me do an image using the demopolis tigers logo?? I can’t figure out how to upload it properly to cut it out. Thanks in advance
This question doesn't really go with this video, but, is there a way to write then cut? Like could we have drawn this logo then cut it out? Go Texans!! 😉
how does one go about printing? I am new to all this..
Hello. My design suite doesn't have the preserve original image thing in the bottom. Where else would I find this? x
How do you print the color layers once you have the design ready?
@jockabbs33
7 жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa, I don't know if you ever got an answer to your question re: how to print the color layers once you have the design image ready. When 1st uploading the image there are 2 options for saving it. (1) Save as Print & Cut image and (2) Save as Cut only image. If you save using the 1st option, when you are ready to Print & then Cut the image, Design Space will ask you to Print the image first by sending the image to your printer. So make sure you have your printer turned on and, placed a sheet of your chosen cardstock into your printer and then simply follow the instructions on design space. After your printer has printed image on the cardstock you will see your image surrounded by 3 L shaped black lines. You then place your cardstock on your cutting mat and load into your cricut machine. The 3 L shapes are for the laser to accurately determine the precise position of the image for the blade to cut it out. If you have an image which only has the cut option available, you can duplicate it in design space and change the option from cut to Print and the same procedure as above applies. Hope this helps.
What did you click to change the color
what program do you use
thank you
Hi Selena I need help of how to creat a logo to just one color and to cut not print cut please Iam learning here!!

Hi Pooh. I have the same question re: preserve image not available on the latest Design Space. Did you ever get an answer & if so could you let me know the outcome. Thank you.
I need help making a cubs vinyl
Would like to see the finished project
I also can't get it to function as you do. I download the image from Google and save it to my computer. I then upload the image, select "simple image", in the "Select and erase section". I erase the sections that I want erased, but the issue is "Preserve original image within shape" check box appears to no longer be available and I think that is what is causing the issues we are having. There is no longer a way to have the red cut line appear. Saving it as a cut image doesn't produce what we need.

OK Patti, no problem. If there is an alternative action we can do in the absence of Preserve image and I find out what it is I will let you know. Unfortunately, there are a lot of tutorials which have been done using older versions of design space which leave us wondering what should we do when some of the option on the new version are not available. Thanks incidentally for getting back to me. Best regards, John.

If you go to help.cricut.com/help/design-space-contour it shows you that the contour/hide contour option is now in the lower right corner of the design space, rather than when you right-click. I don't think you need the "preserve original image" anymore, though I am still playing with it. Maybe this will help someone to be able to use the newer version of the design space.

Kathy Neuberger Hi Kathy, I am using the newer version, and the contour feature is greyed out, and unclickable. Do you know what could be done to have this option enabled?
My cricut page does not have the preserve original image shape option. How does your page have that option and I am missing it?
You talked about SVG file, to let others know you can find a free SVG converter online works great turn png, jpeg etc.. into a svg file.
Can you show me how to do thing 1?
I have a logo I am trying to upload. I can get the image background removed but I can’t get the layers separated. What am I doing wrong?

In the newer version of Design Space it's in the bottom right corner of your screen. It's near the slice, weld, and attach buttons.

This was too hard to understand with you bouncing back and forth with the "easier" way, vs the original way.
