I'm back again with another laser cutting video and thanks to the kind folks at @Creality3D today I'm trying out the enclosure for the Falcon 2.
Ventilation is very important when using a laser cutter and so far I've only been making very simple, quick to cut projects that (combined with a well ventilated room) didn't create too much smoke.
Today though I'm planning to create something a bit more complicated, a road bridge to go over the railway on my layout. This design has a lot more parts than me previous projects, it's going to take a lot longer to cut and so this will be the perfect test of the enclosure for the Creality Falcon 2. How will it perform? Will my bridge be any good? Watch on to find out!

The kit came out really well! I think the paint job looks a bit rushed which kinda saddens the bridge but buried in the scenery it looks a lot better, looks much more at home!

One of the curses of making regular videos is that you don’t always have the time to get things absolutely perfect. Like you said though, as part of the overall scene it blends in a lot better and shows you don’t always have to be really good at painting to get decent results. Thanks for watching 🤩

Great project and the road bridge looked great; always good to build bridges. That enclosure with the air extraction makes so much sense. Thanks for another splendid video.

Good looking bridge that fitted together perfectly. A short video on the designing, programming etc that went into it before the cutting would be a very useful adjunct to this one, especially for those considering getting a laser cutter.

Glad you enjoyed it! There's a few sites out there that have free design files for laser cutters but none really suitable for model railways unfortunately. In my experience you're really looking at needing to design stuff yourself, which in all honesty isn't that hard to do with a little practice. Thanks for watching 😃

Excellent bridge build mate. That laser cutter really is a great bit of kit and having that cover is ideal and is worth investing in. The bridge came out great and looks great with the surrounding scenery. Looking forward to seeing how you made the rest of that module. - Nicholas.

A really interesting video. What's the maximum size of the pieces you can make with your laser cutter? For instance could you make an engine shed with sides long enough to cover a large express loco? Or a goods shed?

Hiya, glad you enjoyed it! The laser cutter has a working area of 400mm x 415mm - however Lightburn (the software most use to control their laser) has a pretty nifty feature where you can cut part of your project, then move the material along, line up the laser and cut the rest. In theory you're only limited by the length of the material you're working with. I actually cut my endplates for the layout using this method as they're 500mm wide. Hope that helps and thanks for watching 👍
