Creating height with armatures | Floral design tutorial | How to arrange flowers with an armature
More fun with armatures! In today's video, I use branching from a wild viburnum in the backyard to create a two-dimensional, easel-style armature in a rectangular ceramic pot. The armature allows me to use long stems in their natural state, as they might grow in the wild, to create a tall, wild-looking arrangement despite my short vessel.
In the bottom of the pot, I use a coil of grapevine as a structure to hold the base of the stems--the same way you'd use foam or oasis, but much more environmentally-friendly.

Thank you!💖
I really love the branches and vines vs chicken wire to switch things up. It adds so much interest! The only thing woody I have is when Mother Maple sheds her branches, so I think I need to go scoping things out around my neighborhood! :)

Absolutely! Someone must have something that hangs over the sidewalk that needs to be pruned, right?😍
It would be nice if you cleared the counter when the arrangement is done to get a better view of the finished project.

Thank you! Sometimes I forget we could pause the video, clean up, and then resume it! By the time I finish, Ian is usually signaling that I am taking too long and I get that anxious rushed feeling that I’m losing you guys 🥹. I promise I will get better at this!🥰
