Creating Handmade Collage Papers!

Hi, everyone!!
In this video, I am going to be making several different collage papers, which I intend to use in future products. Some of these techniques may be new to you, and some maybe old favorites! I will be using only Liquitex Mars Black acrylic paint and Liquitex Matte Gel Medium for these prints.
I hope you enjoy my printing fun! 🤩

Seriously! Definite sign of a generation growing up behind a screen with no real-world consequences. But that’s just my opinion, lol.🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣🤣

What a creative way to use common everyday items to make beautiful prints. The one also reminded me of a set of lungs as soon as I saw it. Love your work!❤️

I just saw another person put the paint on the doily, put it on the gelli plate then pick up the print with a sheet. It was gorgeous.

Simple measures to create stunning papers. I have made my own gelli plate but look forward to your experiment next week. Thank you for sharing.

great prints! i love circles too, i just think they exude a happy feeling lol. a little tip= if you cut off the ends of the citrus bag, the sheet will be big enough to cover your plate, and you can gather or manipulate it to make great curvy patterns.

I’ve made my own gell plate - from a very large commercial size baking pan (used for cinnamon rolls at a bakery) - I made it about 4 years ago and it’s still in great shape!

I just got it mixed up and put in the refrigerator. Oh my goodness, though, those rubbing alcohol fumes! Instant headache. Even with the windows open, lol! I can’t wait to see what happens!!

Excellent video as always👍 The wax resist was good. Mine don't always turn out that good.

Thank you, so much! Honestly, mine don’t usually turn out that well, either. I have always used a crayon before, though. That was the first time I tried using candlewax!

You added some fantastic prints to your stash, Melissa. I didn’t realize you can use gel medium to pull prints so that was good information. I’m going to my room now and give these a try. Do you ever use colored tissue paper for your prints?

@@ArtworkByMelissaReed I bought a gelli plate for backgrounds for cards so I was using card stock or tags with stamps and stencils. It wasn’t until probably the last year that I even used book pages or copy paper to make the prints. I’m learning a lot from you. I tried the colored tissue today but I think my color combo wasn’t great. Maybe you’ll have better luck.

Look at the stove burner covers when you're at Dollar Tree. Could those be used to create a homemade gel plate in?

That’s a really good idea! I ended up picking up a cake pan, but if those are deep enough, I’m sure that would work!☺️☺️
