Hi from Beth in California 🙂 My mother (late 50’s) was hanging out in my home about a week ago, when I was watching one of your videos. She isn’t very familiar with KZreadrs; she was very interested in the whole video. When it ended, she asked if we could watch another. She called you “beautiful and inspiring,” but the reason I’m really writing is that right after that she caught me with a hug and told me she loves me. That sort of gesture isn’t usual for her, but I really needed/wanted that from her. …Hey - You don’t have a million subscribers or anything, but you are crazy-special and amazing Thank you 💕 Beth H. , 32

Bridget, this was an absolutely amazing video and my favorite of your videos so far! I will be starting to set up my classroom tomorrow and I am definitely going to refer back to this video. My favorite takeaway was the mentor sentence and the read aloud tracker. Thanks, as always, for sharing such helpful ideas. Have a wonderful week ahead and best wishes on your new job! 💜

I love this video!!! Can you talk about how to develop an Essential Question and some more examples for different units. I’m moving down to sixth grade after 18 years, and I’m so excited!

I love that you have added Genre Posters! I have them too! I teach Middle School. I have my students do a citation on a post it note. Then, they put it on the genre posters. It's really cool!

I enjoyed your strategic thinking to adjust your decorations to each classroom. I especially liked the fact you involved a little student input. That’s so important to create a sense of ownership for them. Personally I like to take pictures of the students doing work in class and put those pictures up in class to reward them and create that sense of ownership. Enjoyed your video. You are very creative and talented. A reminder to all the teachers out there that the decorations enhance the class, but at the end of the day, it’s all about you. Your effort and kindness will determine the success of your teaching. So, no matter what hand you are dealt for a classroom, you are the most important factor. This video does a great job of showing everyone how a great teacher can adapt to any setting. Everyone have a great school year!!!

Thank you! This was perfect timing for me. I’m a third year teacher but going into my first year as a 4th grade ELA teacher, this is so helpful. I already had planned to make a vocabulary wall but didn’t think of the grammar wall. Thanks again!!!

I loved this video. I got a lot of helpful information. Please do more. My space… I use a giant Freytag pyramid we fill in together as a common text to refer to all year. I have big colorful dots that have commonly confused or misspelled words- the “editing bubbles” And a have an alphabet that came from TPT that has common ELA concepts worked into the alphabet letters. I have the Notice and Note signposts up that we refer to all the time. I have an interactive mentor text board with magnetic labels.

This is so incredibly helpful! I’m limited on bulletin space, but have two big blackboards on one small whiteboard. Not to mention, very high ceilings! Planning my literacy blocks was tough last year and I never felt like I had enough time. Love these suggestions! Can you elaborate on how you would choose the vocabulary for the word wall? I ended up covering my whole blackboard but feel like I could make it smaller to make space for other topics. Any guidance would be appreciated! Thank you for your informative videos! Looking forward to reading your book! 😊

Hi, I have a question. I like the idea of the Welcime Board for my 5th grade. I have very limited space for boards. Could I possibly use a closet door near my affirmation station? Also love the Grammar Wall but can't do that because there is no space. Know you are busy if you have time could you do a video just on that?I can possibly find some space to do that. Thank you. Alicia from CT
